Default Fair Lakes Sunday Cars & Coffee, 2011

This event started late last year, each good-weather Sunday.
Time: 8:30 AM - 10 AM
Where: Starbucks
Fairlakes Circle
12599 Fair Lakes Circle
Fairfax, VA 22033

(Also in this shopping center are Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods stores.)

I hear there was a small get-together last week, but somebody outdid themselves in getting out the troops this week. (Porsche guys, I'm talking about you...) We even had 4 Lotus show up!
Clearly, the cold, cloudy, windy day didn't deter these folks, who were very tired of sitting inside...

Adam showed up in the Red Exige he just bought, from Texas.
An Exige, and Robert's CO Elise.
A nice red Porsche 928 and Bob S's Ferrari 355 kept my Ardent Red Elise company.
Bobert with his 355.
A young boy seemed excited by the cars, and when I asked his father if he'd like to sit in my Elise, the youngster got very excited. (Don't we all remember that feeling?)
Beautiful silver Turbo.
The 928 had as clean an engine as you'll find.
Lots of Porsches, and a really good variety - everything from a very early 911, thru very recent GT3s. Blue Subaru at the end of the line...
Nice contrast between the dark GT3 and the white drop-top.

Most got there starting around 9AM. A little chilly, but lack of wind helped. All things considered, another well-attended event. (Only one Lotus this week - mine...) Jim P. got there early with his SLS.

Many of those who have been showing up Sundays returned again today, and we had some new faces (and cars), too. No Italian cars, though.

Bobert brought his GT500, his wife brought her Crossfire.

Good representation of Porsches, several Vipers again. Some nice Mercedes, including an AMG Black and Jim P's SLS. A nice BMW 2002tii.
No Corvettes today, but a Firebird, a Roush Cobra and an MR2 provided variety.

Default Roush 427 Cobra

Here's a few more pictures of the Roush 427 Cobra. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but the white is completely flat.

Phil brought his 458 Italia.
Steve M's AMG.
Superformance Cobra Daytona Coupe.
A GT3 RS, with Bob Williams' yellow Carrera behind it.
Ducati
I liked the black Porsche, with yellow-pinstriped wheels. Black interior with yellow seatbelts completed the look.
Bobert's F550M.
His wife, Bev, and her Crossfire.
The 50's-era Pontiac, with Bob DeMart's Porsche behind it.
Warren brought his Porsche, with a 308 next to it.

Folks started showing up as early as 8:30AM, and most left between 10:00AM and 10:30AM.

Come out and enjoy the event - every good-weather Sunday.

12599 Fair Lakes Circle, in the parking lot between Kohl's department store and Starbucks.

A good day. Lots of people showed up, everyone had a good time.

A really nice MGA.
Matt's Sport Elise.
Matt's son, Alex, fills his father's gloves.
Phil's Italia.
Bobert's Gran Sport, with the Daytona Coupe and a Viper.
A new Challenger.
Porsches, Corvette & Viper.
No lack of vibrant colors.
The large-displacement group.
One of the Porsche Turbos sported 25-aspect rear tires.

I missed last week's event - I understand there was a pretty good turnout, but this week was amazing, too.

Bobert brought his 550M.
I parked behind Jim's SLS.
The early arrivals - 8:15AM.
2 Viper Coupes.
2 Sting Rays.
Superformance Cobra Coupe replica.
Bob's Lister Jaguar replica - has a modeified Chevy Z06 engine, this car is a real work of art.
The 'business end' of several Porsches.
A Chevy-engined hot rod showed up.
A Willys Jeep.

Steve's Black Series.
Maserati.
Bob's Lister Jaguar replica.
Callaway Corvette.
M3.
Buick & TBird.
2 Lotus in attendance.

This morning was interesting - Easter Sunday, will anybody be there? Beautiful weather - clear and warm(ish). The result: you can't keep car guys away during good weather.

Several Katie's regulars are showing up, and many others are discovering this Sunday morning meet.
