Default I've lost a father figure, a mentor and a friend.

Yesterday afternoon my father in law passed away. He was 80. He introduced me to my wife. I think I'll not meet another like him.

Very sorry to hear Jim, a man who introduces his daughter as opposed to shooing her away sounds like a damn good friend to have!

My condolences.

So sorry to hear this. RIP. At least, knowing the thought that he must have had a wonderful life for having you as part of his life and vice versa, is the comfort. Wonderful memories remain to guide you through the tough times. Jimmy

Default sorry to hear

I'm sorry to hear of the family's loss. We lost my wife's father way too soon.

By your comments we all can see his influence and his trust in you, to take care of his daughter. That has to be the most precious of all bounds. I hope that when I go, I can have the same confidence in those that my daughters have chosen.

There is no offerings of help and if there's anything that we can do that will make up the void. But there is comfort in sharing the loss and hearing from those that you find to be your friends.

As mentioned above, our time here is limited and that we have to make the most of everything that we have. For the most part, we in this particular forum are a very lucky lot. We need to live our lives in a way to make our parents and our heritage proud of our accomplishments.

Peace be with you and your family in this time of mourning.

I am sorry for your loss, Jim. He sounded like a man of character, which I find to be in short supply these days. Present company excluded!
