I'm working on some events with the organizers of the race. I'd get your tickets and everything through whatever sources you have though.

I'll be concentrating more on related "events" leading up to and during the weekend.

Great idea 355Dreamer!

The BMW club has a corral space for Friday qualifying and Saturday's ALMS (Rahal/Letterman Racing) event. I didn't commit to either of those because I want to drive the Ferrari.

We definitely should caravan to the event! Everyone still have their walkie-talkies ?

LS - I'll pm the BMWNCC website info. to you.

Yup. I really want to drive the 355 to the event, and I am counting on the MAR event hookup guru, LS, to come through. Better yet, I want to drive on the track.

Come on Deep! Set it up!!!

I met him one year at F1 race in the Ferrari Paddock. I'll have to find the picture, scan and post it. He's truly down to earth and approachable.

Why do you want to meet Stewart specifically v. other great drivers?

Maybe we should start a thread of "famous drivers" we've met and share pics and stories?

I have one of Puff getting his nipples autographed by Derek Bell - quite funny. And Puff was sober at the time

The event is Friday, September 2, through Sunday , September 4, 2011. Friday and Saturday are Qualifying, and a Concert. Sunday is the actual Race. What are you locals doing regarding tickets? Single day, three day? Paddock? If something is set up to bring our Ferrari's, which day or days are you thinking? I'm not interested in my Ferrari in a parking garage! Obviously the real race is the best day for watching the race, but would the other days, especially Saturday, be better for us? Or Saturday AND Sunday? Ideas/thoughts?

Bobby Rahal and David Letterman Racing will enter their M3s in Saturday's American Le Mans Series Race. The BMW Club will have a corral area for all three days. http://www.nccbmwcca.org/bgp/corral_flyer.pdf

I'm driving the Ferrari and hope we can secure an area together.

I can't help but wonder if the city has really thought this through.... it seems like a stretch with all the budget woes and corruption that they can effectively pull this off. It would be nice if this wasn't the first and last time they did it like the boobs in DC.
