hmmm, if this ad is for real, what are the odds it has had its engine-out belt replacement anytime in recent history; this century?

So what would the cost for 30,000 mile engine out service, and go thru the transmission and clutch.

Budget 15-20K to bring her back up. Argue a bit off the price for the amount of work due and it'd be a good resurrection. Single mirror centerlock car with a black interior. Nice and rare combo. |

Appears to be US spec? For a real enthusiast, that's a detractor...could explain the pricing as well. LS |

Looks like that engine bay has a few leaks. I'm not familiar with the TR, but seems like the work required and the asking price combined brings it close to current market value, i.e. no bargain. But I agree, a potential resurrection. Potential being the operative word. |

If you don't expect much from the car it could be gone through "quick and dirty" so it's driveable and then sell it to the next guy at a "reaosnable" price. There's a lot of TR's like this in the world...serviced just enough to keep 'em on the road. |

The sum of the parts is worth greater than the total. Buy it and part it out to Rutlands and/or in F-Life ads. 360 & TR Cars & Coffee at CITY DOCK ANNAPOLIS 9am-noon Every Sunday F-CHAT Exile now living the Ferrari Life. |

I have email out to the seller when was the last engine out and belt service that was done and when. No response in 2 days, which I would believe that the car has never had any basic service done.

Thanks for the offer Josh. I'm afraid if I go, well, you know... Ms. LC isn't too happy about the cafe bike. I don't think this would help my cause. |

| He answered in the Q&A section. Said it was the year before he bought it, so at least 5 years. So definitely consider the price of a necessary major in your thinking. Looks nice cosmetically. Mileage is certainly reasonably low. What's a 12 cylinder major run these days? $12k? He says the tires are new, that's a plus.

Adding a dilapidated TR to the collection probably wouldn't accrue many brownie points. Although it is entertaining to get a phone call with: " I just bought a car and my wife can't know about it, can I have it dropped off at the shop for some work and I'll come get it in a couple weeks?". |
