Default Sunday Cars & Coffee, Fairlakes, VA

This Sunday morning event is a much smaller-scale, local get-together than the Saturday events in Great Falls at Katie's. It runs Sunday mornings, from about 8:30 AM to 10 AM. It's held in front of the Starbucks in Fairlakes Circle, in the same shopping center as Dick's Sporting Goods and Kohl's. The address of Starbucks is -
12599 Fair Lakes Circle
Fairfax, VA 22033

I suspect it will be active as long as the weather is dry, and will start back up in the spring. It's a good option for 'locals' who can't get up early on Saturday for Katie's, but don't want to go all the way to Burtonsville for the Church of the Holy Donut on Sundays. I'm told there are usually 10 or more cars that show up, domestic and foreign, exotic and muscle.

Italians cars were absent today; Bobert brought his Corvette Gran Sport.

Tim's Elise, and mine.
Bob's GT500.
The GT3's center-lock wheels are very cool.
You don't see many Merkur XR4TI's around any more.
I like the red kevlar inside the Lister's doors - just about matches the engine covers I just got for our Elise.

As you can see, a pretty good variety of cars and car folks show up. No Italians again this week, though.

If you're in the Northern VA area, and up and about on Sunday morning, think of coming by this very low-key event. It's in front of the Starbuck's in the FairLakes shopping center that has Kohl's and Dick's Sporting Goods. Runs good-weather Sundays, from about 9AM thru 10:30AM.

A great, clear day - not too cold for this time in November, so a pretty good turnout.

Bob brought out his F550M, so we had Italian representation this week.

Mark Franke came out with his '87 Turbo Esprit, so we did have a Lotus contingent.

The guy who brought the motorcycle said he was related to the creator of the TV show 'My Name Is Earl'. The bike was made by Orange County Choppers for the TV show. It has "the list" from the show painted on the fuel tank - at least, I think it was painted on - it even had a piece of scotch tape, and a little shadow.

The fuelie 'vette was a hit.

A great pair of 911's.

One of my favorites was the AMG Black.

351 Cobra.

Note how low the Z car is, and the strange camber on the rear - it had a pneumatic suspension.

Always good to see MIke's Porsche 1600.
