There is a petition going around, meant for the CA drivers [sorry if you are not] requesting CA to forget the front license plate rule on cars missing. If you have time and are inclined, please link in and 'sign' the online petition. http://www.petitiononline.com/caplate/petition.html ALSO, if you DO sign, just post a 'signed' response too.....thanks rik Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! I signed. Need to get it on a ballot so we can vote on it. How does that process work?

I really think it's a wasted effort. I suport what's being done but feel it's futile. It's a $100.00 fine in S.F.! A front license plate holder customer stated he parked at a meter on MLK day thinking it was a metered holiday. He received a $60.00 ticket for the meter violation and a $100.00 ticket for no front plate! It is state wide statutory $40.00 (as of 1/1/09 from $25.00) but cities can add fees to bring it to $100.00. With revenue generation such as this do you think they would really do away with that requuirement? |

Agree with Greg. This will not go anywhere, but does show a concerted effort on those that bother to sign. I'll bet, the more that know about it the more grass rooted it may become, and it might just be possible to effect a change. Got to say, I believe the front plate DOES offer a bit of effective law enforcement. BUT, just paying the fine for no mounting is ok by me, what I DON'T like is the enforcement to make such a mounting permanent or it escalates. I have tried, unsucessfully to date, to have a quick magnetic mount to the front to 'fool' future problems,.....still working on that. My local magnet factory [ya' Sonoma actually has one and it's awsome to play at] have magnets that can hold up to 50-100#'s. Expensive, but, might prove the trick. Actually tried to mount side Shields using the magnets but the 456 hood, has way too thick of a bonnet for even the strong mags to penetrate. Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH ! For $35.00 you can buy a whole kit from me that screws into the tow hook threads. No cutting or drilling into the vehicle. I have sold tons of them. Well done and you keep in the trunk and put on when stopped. Gee, "I just had the car detailed, and they forgot to put it back on". Works every time. Last edited by Gcalo; 01-30-2009 at 11:40 AM. |

You are back in the game....that is very nice for the price. BTW Why wouldn't this fit all Ferraris? That bold size/thread should be fairly standard ... like the 456 and MOndial T or not? advise.
