The even DID happen. Ferrari managed to understand its biggest market and best market area. BUT honestly, not a great event due to rain. wife and I went Sat. Got free passes and food from Ferrari staff in the tent: GOOD FOODZZZ Was a REAL TREAT to see the old, open tops racing in the pooring rain with only a helmet for protection. Reminds one of actually being there 'in the days when ...' Didn't get much in pics as too rainy and spent a bunch of time with other Ferraristo/a s including a gal who races here 328. Nice time. the 599's racing were very nice. The 430's looked awsome in their paint jobs. and sorry to see the corral, where normally 80-100 ferraris can be seen parked, down to FOUR. with two of them being MINE. ![]() sad....had to leave early as wife was actually sick. Brian drove the T from San Ramon to there for my easy pickup as it got a new alternator..... DID manage these nice shots of a blackened 599. Wish he would blacken the rear taillights though. I like the way the tires used on the 599 have a marking labeled "outside" on the tires, hard to "screw up" that tire installion...Very smart, and a BEAUTIFUL collection of vintage open wheeled racers, to me nothing more impressive than the sight of 6, 2 barrel downdraft Webbers with velocity stacks. Those are "asimetrico" tires and have to be mounted that way. This means there is an inner and outer tread pattern that must be followed. Some time ago the tire makers realized that installers would not pay attention to proper mounting if those tires were not marked. Now they are. You can't screw that up! |
