Default Visit to Scuderia Ecosse

At last, 2009 has kicked off up here in Scotland with a Scottish Area FOC visit to Scuderia Ecosse near Edinburgh. I met up with some owners in Glasgow to drive through to Edinburgh.

As always, great pics Marlin. Nice to see some Ferrari's out and about so early in the season.

GTS28 - always nice to see your gorgeous 328. Did you get the Tubi sorted out in the end? Last I heard you were looking for a Testarossa, any news on that yet?

Hi Archie, been a long time ! Full time job and being an Group Organiser doesn't leave much free time !!
The 328 is fully Tubied up and has just undergone a full mechanical overhaul, so she is going well, as to the redhead, with the current climate am in a quandry as to what to buy !!!!!!
You not purchased a new 328 yet ???

I bet she sounds great with that Tubi

Looks like you are doing a great job as FOC Group Organiser. Is that the whole of Scotland, or just part of it? Seems like a huge area if it's the whole country.

Sadly, no new 328 for me yet. I keep looking at the dealers websites, but I can't take the risk at the moment. I run a mortgage brokerage company and it's been pretty tough for us over the last 18 months or so. It is beginning to stabilise now, but it will be a long and painful process to return to 2007 income levels. I'm still hopeful that I will buy another this year, but realistically it will be next year. I've not given up the dream and owning another Ferrari is my biggest motivation for working hard. I've got a nice house, a holiday home and luxury goods..etc, and don't want or need anything else. Just a Ferrari.

Looks like a great time guys! Did you get a few laps in the Scud?

I love the 328 rear end (pic 7).

Hi Archie, no its split into three areas geographically, North-D.Jackson, Central-S.Williams and Glasgow and South yours truly. There was a period of club inactivity here for a few years, but the ball is rolling now. Looks promising for the future.

It's good to see the members north of the border don't keep their beauties under cover in the winter - not like us southern softies.

It's also good to see an active Scottish scene, you should persuade some of them to join in on here. There's no Scottish vs English or Welsh rivalry here

Hi Archie, The North East (England) Area group have already had some of their members at our events which was encouraging, and something which we will reciprocate this year. No cross border animosity here !! After all it is a GB club !! National Club event ( Pirelli Hillclimb Championship Rnd 6) is being held at Doune in Perthshire this year, so will be well attended and supported.Anyone coming up this neck of the woods just pm me and will be delighted to meet up with any Ferrari owners passing through.
Gavin.

Hi t1f. No laps - it was a drive to the Scuderia HQ and then appreciating a static display. The Scud did sound good though.

So, you're an ass man
