Gary I'd start with the buyers guide on this site. Should give you a good starting point. Barry Ferrari's: 360 Modena F1, 308 GT4 Other Italians: Ducati 916, Ducati 848 DD's: RR Sport, BMW 645ci, BMW 1200GS Adv. |

Hi, thanks but there doesn't seem to be a buyers guide for the f430?

I'd use the 360 one, they are close in many ways, and close enough from the Buyers Guide perspective.

since most buyers know precious little about cars, it is always best to have the best mechanic possible go over the car thoroughly before you buy it. Someone not affiliated with the seller. When you do that, there is little you need to do or know. buying a ferrari is the same as buying any other car. Decide what you want, find it, negotiate the best price, then have a mechanic check it out. Everything you know is wrong Stop chatting and start living the ferrarilife! |

Sounds like a very early car. Check clutch wear, condition of the brake discs, and if it has been serviced as per schedule and by whom.
