my mondial 3.4t suddenly decided it wont go into first gear when stationary ,sometimes when i think its gone in ,its gone in third, any ideas

Does it go in with the engine off? On my QV the clutch is hydraulic and has needed bleeding, not sure about the 3.4T.

1.st is unusual, but not uncommon. I would check the linkage, some minor adjustments, and now that you have the gate off and can get in there, check the obvious: this is a minor --hopefully-- worn part. BTW: how are the other gears? are you having a tough time 'throwing' it into other slots at ANY speed --remember not to include 2nd in your commentary. rik Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH !
