My Diablo engine project is coming along....slowly but surely. I decided to take a small break and do some things to my Ferrari 512 TR. I recently had the windows tinted and it looks great. But the stereo in car was crap. Whoever did the stereo install in this car should be shot. It was a horrible job and luckily I could reverse everything that was done, but it would require me to take everything apart to see how it was wired. I ended up re wiring the whole doors and everything. I went with a high end pro series Boston Acoustics set up and man it sounds great. The stereo install is just a simple one. I didn't want anything fancy, but just enough to sound good. I also dynomatted my doors which makes the doors sound even more solid. I went with two JL audio amps and a Eclipse CD7100 system with Nav and Ipod controller. A week later my throw out bearing went bad and locked up. Everytime you pushed in the clutch the car sounded like a pissed off cat that got it's tail stepped on. I was pretty pissed about it since I had not driven it that much so I got the part I needed and was going to get someone else to do it locally, but I wanted to make sure it was done right with care so I did it myself. Saved myself about $1500-$2000 in labor cost also! It all came out well and the car runs awesome now. I still plan on taking the engine out next year to clean it up to my specs. My car only has 17K miles on it, but I can already see some cool things I want to do to it. I am not going to do any mods on the engine. I had to drop the exhaust off the car (tubi) and found out my cats were hollowed out which was fine by me. (For off road use of course!) Doing the clutch change on this car will be a sinch! Alot better than the Diablo. ![]() 1992 Black Lamborghini Diablo 1992 Red Ferrari 512TR |

Awesome documentation of the process with all the photos. The first set where you have the entire dash apart, was that to fix the wiring for the radio?

You are a very clever man I'm totally lost with a screw driver and wrench, give me a calculator and a pen and I'm a home (I can also work out how much my mechanic is ripping me off )

LOL! Too funny! To answer the question above, my user name is silvergts1998 because at one time I built from raw materials my Silver 1998 Dodge Viper GTS. (My first true heavy hitting American Exotic car). I could not afford to have a tuner tune my car so I went on the internet and studied everything. I was renting a house at time until my house got built. I used a small drill press, jig saw with WD-40 oil to cut my aluminum brackets and pretty much designed my own system.See pics below. I fabricated everything from the pullies, brackets, tubing, intercooler...yada! yada! Then I crashed the 900 RWHP car. 1992 Black Lamborghini Diablo 1992 Red Ferrari 512TR |

The funny part of all this is that 12 years ago, I bearly knew how to do an oil change. Self taught on everything. I had no money so either I walked or learn how to fix things. 1992 Black Lamborghini Diablo 1992 Red Ferrari 512TR |

You look as though you know what you're doing now. I'm in awe of guys like you. I don't have the motivation or patience to learn, there's no excuse for it, you've proved that it can be done. Well done.

Couple things. I think that Viper looks unbelievable. Was it in a racing accident or on road accident? The 512 TR is immaculate, and that is amazing that you did all of that yourself. Thirdly, what do you have done to the Diablo in the garage? Yeah....I too have asked many questions about his Diablo. What an awesome car! I'm currently trying to learn all I can about these cars. So I will probably be picking Adam's brain in the near future.
