So it's been 10 years since the last major? Only 2k miles driven since then? I just did the major on my TR that had 10 year old belts and tensioner bearings and everything "looked" fine. But I would strongly advise changing out those cam belts and tensioners soon.

Just got back. Car ran great! Never saw over 195 on the temp. Stretched her legs a few times in fourth and fifth. Car really turns heads we were able to re hook up the original alpine car phone, k40 radar, and stereo amps. Pretty funny actually. Can't wait for her first bath tomorrow.

After you wash the car, use an electric leaf blower to blast out water from side strakes and all the other hiding places. Keeping a black TR clean is a big job...but nothing looks more menacing!

Awesome that you drove it, well done!

Is yours Nero or Nero Metallizato? The paint code should be on the upper edge of the trunk lid - if you don't mind taking a look to confirm, I would appreciate it.

hey fellow,,,thats a very nice Ferrari...i wish you many happy miles,,,i myself,,,have always had a crush on the Testarossa,,,i like the old style Ferrari interior that they have..like the 328 and 348,,along with the 3 spoke steering wheel...looks like you found a very clean example of the marque...the motor looks like you can boil an egg on it !!..the Testarossa is in the running,,,if i were to ever get a second F Car..my mechanic told me that they are very reliable and that the motors are bullit proof,,,,he said that their shop doesnt get many in for repairs,,like the 355 and 360,,and since it is an engine out belt service,,my guy said...it would only be 1500 more than my 328...thats not bad for a 12 cylinder,,,the last time i was at Fast Cars,,,they had a 512 TR,,,red on tan,,,that was getting a new fuse board installed,(seems the fuse boards in the TRs were getting damaged by the heat from the fuel pump i believe ),,i was drooling over that Ferrari....the owner had the round tail light conversion kit installed..looked so good...anyways,,,congrats,,,and good luck

Chad! awesome, what a rush huh to finally achieve a dream that at times seems unattainable. I guess if you had eyes into the other dimension, yr grandpappy was right beside you all the way home.

The hardest thing at this time is to discipline oneself to take the car off the road and service the belts, believe me I know, but it has to be done.
cheers

Congratulations Chad. It was the right decision to take to the road so. Many more safe miles, enjoy your new toy.

Who's got a deal on some cat deletes for me???? Gotta wake this thing up a little.
What could be better than a 3.5 hr drive in your new baby !
