Hi Everyone - My Testarossa made me a very happy man last week in Monterey. Please enjoy the video capturing the day's events focused on the 3 awards we collected: - Preservation Award - Platinum - Best Ferrari "Darkhorse" was also 1 of 8 in the running for "Best of Show" by extension of winning Best of Marque. What a day...I can still hardly believe it. I am truly honored and humbled by the whole experience. Concorso Italiano 2011 - Testarossa !! - YouTube |

| Thanks for putting the right tags on the video code, Andrew. I saw the sticky from 2008 on how to add YT vids but figured it might be out of date, so I did it the lazy way! BTW, the paint code on this TR is 901/C - Nero Metallizato. It is absolutely stunning in person and really stands apart from straight up Nero (although that is beautiful too). I'm just so thrilled that the Testarossa is finally getting some long overdue R-E-S-P-E-C-T !! |

| What I was thinking: Nero makes all the lines seem perfect. BTW: I'd be shakin' in me boots getting that much award attention. My better half was your Chief Class Judge. She thought your car was very good. Nice car. Great color combo. |

We just had the car Classiche certified. I am going to do a few odds and ends to it and she'll show it at the National Meet in the desert next year. It got a Coppa Bella Machina when she first got it. We'd like to do it again.

| I've read a bit about Coppa Bella Machina and Coppa GT (?) - which have to do with how well the car drives and the owner's skill at handling the car. How exactly do you achieve those awards? Are there events you can enter but only at the FCA National Meet? Where can I find out more?

Rick, welldone, I hope the worthy judge refrained from a leather lick....(couldn't help that, the dog typed it) nice to see a classic getting recognized for its merit.

Both only done at FCA National meets. For a CPM you need first to get Platinum. Then a judge will go over every single function of the car.....every single one. After that the owner will drive the judge around and test every function on the road. If anything, even the remote control for the CD changer fails to work correctly, the car fails. At the New Jersey National Meet I failed a 575 for a non functional glove box light. For a CGT you need to pass the CPM then you give a selection of driving judges a ride on the race track and they judge your ability and your cars functionality. The judges will meet and collectively vote on who deserves to pass. It is difficult.
