You wouldn't be the only one, there are several supercar owners that have the whole set. With each car in being so special, you can understand the appeal of it.

I find it difficult to get the F40 out of my head after my test drive. I would just LOVE to own one. It is a shame I'm not a little richer...

Excellent news, and I look forward to seeing my ultimate garage in your garage if you see what I mean

Great story ... I know I am going to sound ignorent but is that really Magnum PI's Car? The reason why I ask is because in the pics you also showed KITT from Knight Rider (My favourite pre teen show) and james bond's car.

Boxer-That would sure fill out the Ferrari Supercar Grand Slam. Maybe you can trade the Jag for a 288 GTO. I have no idea what she is worth.

288 GTO prices have gone right through the roof here. From GBP 160-200k 4 years ago to over GBP 600k today.

Jag XJR-15 is only worth about half.

Boxer- Wow, they really have gone up. Had no idea, but then there were only 272 of them built supposedly, all LHD. That makes them way rarer than any of the other supercars (F40 1315, F50 (drool) 349, Enzo (who do you believe?, 500?)).

Absolutely right. The 288 GTO is the rarest of the modern Ferrari Supercars and I think this has helped drive the values. On the others, I have heard about 380 on the F50 (vs. 349 officially) and around 500 Enzos. Even on the FXX which they declared would only be 30 cars, they ended up making 33-35.

Having been lucky enough to have experience working on and driving all 4 not only is the 288 the rarest, it is in my opinion the most fun to drive. It is a wonderful all around sports car.

Reasonable interior room, can get in and out of driveways or driven on normal roads without concern of bottoming out. It is a docile as can be and viceless but also an outstanding performer. Phil Hill was really right when he said it was what the 308 always should have been. It wasn't even all that expensive from a production stand point. Even in limited production it cost the dealer less than a TR. In full scale production with the option of a standard or turbo charged motor it could have made the 328 superfluous. Oh well.

I am not in a position to own any of them but if I could the 288 would be the one.

You are not the only one who feels this way. I have a couple of other friends who have driven all four and put the 288 GTO at the top of the list.

Personally though, I would still opt for the F50.

Not having driven any of them puts me at a unique advantage of not having a clue, but, except for the money difference, it would be the F50 for me.

Certainly not going to go wrong with your choice.
