I don't think Ferrari would be impressed if they knew he was selling an Enzo in order to buy the new one.

920 hp - chances are it will beat the FXX

I heard the price will be 930k

Way back when I mentioned guys were picking up Enzo's to have a shot at the F70.

Would be nice if they built enough of the new supercar to fulfill demand, like they did with the F40, even if they have to stretch out production. They have to make tons of money on it, so why not? 1500 or so over four years should be manageable from a production and demand standpoint. At ~$1M each, that is $1.5B, a princely sum and costs would probably be less than half that.

I don't think they will stretch production numbers. If anything, Ferrari seem to be intend on making their wealthiest clients feel more special, not part of the cruddy 458 crowd like myself. An example of this is the new exclusive club they've launched for owners of 5 Ferraris or more (which I take to mean ordered 5 new ones or more).

I would be very surprised if they produce more than 500 examples. I think the exclusivity of the Enzo has worked very well for them.

It is roughly a ten year journey.

Buy 5 new Ferraris and hope you get invited. It will take time, you will only get invited if you've been a good client for 5 years, maybe 10 years or more.

Just to put some perspective on it: over 7,000 Ferraris are sold each year. The new club will have around 300 members. At least 200 of these places are already filled, although it could be more. But let's say that 100 places are available. You will have needed to buy Ferraris for at least 5 years, so that means you're competing with over 30,000 other Ferrari purchases, of which maybe 10,000 repeat business. Of that, the number of 5-time buyers are maybe small but not insignificant, because lots of clients keep buying over the years. I would say for those 100 places you would be competing with at least 1000 - 2000 other owners. Of those, the famous people get preference. Will they say no to Cristiano Ronaldo, just because he bought only a 599GTO? And the long-standing clients will get preference. People that bought a Daytona in 1972, a Boxer in 1984 and so on will be very good friends with the dealers and friends always get put in front of the line.

In short - getting in is very difficult.

I got clarification from Ferrari on this. You have to currently own five Ferraris, one of which must be a currently produced model.

Default Musings on life

Excited as are you all about a 2500lb, 900hp F70. The picture in Automobile Magazine seems related stylistically to the gorgeous 458 but stretched for a longer motor, such as 206SP/330P4 or F40/F50, to my eyes. Just screams FERRARI to me. Beautiful.
Do not fathom the thoughts behind comments about "only a ...". Any beast with the Black Horse on the Yellow field is YOUR FERRARI. Any 308 is instantly recognizable in America. The 550/575 series is a more recent version of the long-nose, front-mounted V12 classic 275GTB. I find the 458 to be gorgeous, just as are its V8 predecessors. I could make the same comments about the last several decades' models. Be ecstatic over what best fits you.
Would love to get an F70; no info yet to my dealer about applying. The future will tell.
Best to all.

Dan, from what I have heard, it is the factory who will decide directly who get the F70/Enzo replacement. Unlike the Enzo, it will not be up to the individual markets to allocate out their quota. Only people who are definitely on the list are FXX owners....if the car was purchased directly from Ferrari or with Ferrari approval.

Maybe this should be it's owe thread but the direction ferrari is going seems a very odd business model to me as it appears to leave way more of money on the table then it collects.

Production numbers way back were low simply because that is all the cars they could sell the best I can tell so that is it's own thing. Today they have the imagine of exclusive they want to preserve and nourish, but to me the "lists" just make it not an old boys insider trading club where the member profit simply for being members. Normally the goal of a company is that the company should profit but the price point on this car seems to be 50% to 100% below what the market would bear at the planned production volume.....so that portion of the profit is made by list members rather than the factory.

I guess they are trying to treat it like an IPO. They want EVERY car to pre-sell and they want the final stable market price to be at or above the the IPO price so the core investment community feels safe with the purchase....which seems a very odd way to treat luxury goods marketing?

Oh well, that's all beyond me so back to point.....it's sounding like a very cool car and if the sketches are any indication at all, they are back on track with styling.

Does the 5 Ferraris, apart from the fact that one has to be a current produced model, have to been purchased to a dealer or can they be second hand vehicles? And does the 10 years still apply?
