Terry when Mark posted the 10% wear right off the bat on the LP 670 it sure would make me think twice about a Lambo.

It does seem that Ferrari has been way ahead of the competition on the F1 systems.

At the end of the day even the early F1's vs the 6 speed would be my choice if for nothing else full concentration with two hands on the wheel.

Not sure I am with you on the early F1 systems, I really did not like the 355 F1 the few times I have drive one.

I really don't like the F1 on a 360 either. Way too much slippage on the clutch.

Should have clarified - was referencing the early 612's.

Boxer- The F1 on the F355 has to be driven differently. There is no digital throttle so the system works on the accelerator linkage/vacuum system like an old cruise control. There is insufficient throttle authority to match revs on downshifts so you need to heel and toe (or right foot, left foot) just like a three pedal car. If that is not done, downshifts will really jerk the car and cause lurching progress. Some F355 owners love it because it is more driver intensive than the later cars. Early 360s benefit from an F1 ECU/TCU upgrade, too.

Every day I look around, and if nobody is shooting at me, it is a pretty good day.

Interesting, Taz! That is priceless information. I would love to drive a 355 F1 and try that out.

I never could figure out why the system was so bad down shifting.

Great info.
