Pablo- You save all the original parts and the change is reversible.

It will not work.

Every one of the Ferrari Supercars (288, F40, F50 and Enzo) came with the highly efficient Sankyo compressor already. They abandoned the use of the Aspera (a York copy) during the production of the 308QV. The 308 and 328 were the last cars to use the Aspera and then only in the USA because of USA crash testing laws. Every car designed after the 328 had Sankyo.

If good airconditioning is important to you any Vintage Ferrari is just not a good choice.

Brian- Good to know. Should have looked at the parts book before posting.

Not much according to Brian. Maybe think about an Enzo instead? If it works like the A/C in my contemporary 575M, you would be fine. It shares a compressor with a couple of late models of Maseratis, icnluding the four door QP 07, so should keep you nice and cool if well maintained.

A car like the F40 just was not designed for a high level of comfort. It was not a design objective. You can reengineer anything but at some point it becomes rediculous. European cars in general were historically a step or two behind American cars in terms of air conditioning and Ferrari a step or two behind that. The gap has closed considerably but I think still exists. Something like heating, ventillation and air conditioning requires a good deal of planning at early stages of car design and fixing a fundamentally flawed design is often an expensive, fruitless adventure.

Buy a Cadillac for hot days and drive an F40 in the evening.

And what about the adjustable suspension? Some of you guys say that is better to look for one that has it from factory and others that it can be adapted.
I ask because obviously i have an opportunity on one that does not have it but is in very nice condition and most of all will be 25 years old in two years which makes eligible for import to USA , and the other that is being offer to me with adjustable suspension from the factory is from a year that i would have to wait until 2018 for import to USA
What would be the best course of action???
