Since I began this mention on 212's Bought F50 thread, I did not wish to hijack his wonderful thread, I decided to start this new thread. If there are any owners or people that have leads, I am all ears. Thank You in advance for the feedbacks. w/ smiles Jimmy |

Hi Jimmy, Shall have a look at the one at the dealer, and see if it is for sale. If so shall pass on details to you. It is parked next to the 599GTO, so it may be for publicity. Shall check and let you know. Jacob |

Jimmy!! A replacement plan for 275 already? I hope your not on the rebound, though a fine rebound it would be . I think a 288 GTO is about the best plan possible to ease the pain of your recent break-up.![]() However (and please feel free to tell me to keep quiet!) would a GTO not pose some of the same issues that led to 275's departure, i.e. the roads/traffic/speed limits not allowing you to do the car justice as Enzo would have intended? I hope the answer is no, because a GTO would be a fine addition to your already magnificent stable! Jimmy, have you gone MAD?? You would sell a 275 for a 288?! Now you really should have kept the 275 in my garage!

Jimmy- Good choice. The GTO is a lot happier trundling along than the 275 and a whole lot quicker when you are in a hurry. Plus it is actually rarer, too, since there were 456 275 GTBs, 350 275 GTB/4s, and only 272 GTOs.

![]() As mentioned by Taz, and I know he is right, I feel that 288 is less stressful than 275 for my planet where I am located now. I do recall reading similar comments some time ago. Ohhhhh, Barry, the honest truth is I do not know what I am doing anymore. Off the cliff, so to speak. Must be my midlife crisis in full force. Yikes !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We shall see what happens. w/ smiles Jimmy

| Thank You, Taz, for your expert opinion and understanding. As little as I know regarding 288, I concur that the 288 character may be more befitting me than 275. Nevertheless, how can one decide between a gorgeous, drop dead blonde versus sensuously, voluptuous redhair ? w/ smiles Jimmy (ooooopppss, I should have made that black hair !). w/ smiles Jimmy

Well, Jimmy, I can certainly understand your desires - I was thinking about one that was for sale in the UK only 3 months ago! Sadly, there was a reason why it was on the cheap side. There is one for sale in Holland at the moment. I can try and have a look at the car if you want. If you were serious about this car, I'd recommend having a PPI done by my specialist who knows 288GTO's quite well, having sold several. 1986 Ferrari 288 GTO for sale: Anamera Onno Future: 458 Italia (May 2012) Present: 550 Maranello, 330GTC, 365BB (x2) Past: eh - see above. |

Jimmy, my first thought was : "When he does sell his gorgeous 275 alloy because of speed limit argumentation, why then he lusts for a 288 GTO" ? But the more I think about the more sense it makes even to a dummy like me. - You have many classics already - You never have been very much into modern cars but much into classics. So the 288 is a thing in between and what a THING ! - 288 GTO is rare, rare, rare - Its fun to drive, strong, light, nimble , as a dear friend of mine commented (288 GTO is one of the F-cars I have never driven persomally unfortunately so) - Its probably much easier to guide in heavy traffic. - Long term I'm sure its a great investment as well. Go for it ! |
