212, Beautiful, fabulous, spotless... Looks like it could have rolled out of Maranello only today...Is it sharing the garage with D (I didn't see any hints of yellow in the background?) 2 iconic F cars. A great pairing... Enjoy in good health. ...and finally some besides material. As soon as the waether will get better, I'll make some overall car pictures under sky to make sure, that the colour is more natural than under "artificial Garage light". But at least some impressions so far. Thank you all for your patience.

| The doctors bag in my case for short runs contains a rectangular warning sign and 2 yellow vests, for longer runs.....well....the little black one (hopefully) of my wife.Since I had to work around "F" (waxing etc.) I put "D" into our underground Garage for a couple of days. They never met but soon will.... ...see if they like each other ?!

212- Wow, she is mint. Looks like she came out of the factory yesterday. Time to hit a concourse before she gets any dust on her. Looks like you may want to buff those wrenches and then apply some cold metal lacquer, or that may just be the finish through the plastic on the photograph. Glad your wife is pain-free for a while. Those heavy duty pain pills really work. Awesome photos. Glad to see you finally got it home. I'm sure you'll enjoy this in 2012 after the snow melts. Congrats again.

Just some additional thoughts regarding the path of buying a F50: - It took me almost 7 years (as my first drive was in '05) to find a buy the "right one", never had that long to find the object of my desire in the F-world before. - The F50 is a rare good, that brought some interesting situations. Generally said, it became my persuasion that once something is rare, vendors tend negate important points just because of the false believe that the car will sell anyway. - In the last 7 years, I have checked about 9 F50 seriously, all within Europe. 3 of them in Switzerland (one from greasy hands, one with a non-mentioned accident and finally...the one I bought.) - The F50 has so much additional stuff which comes with the car that it is almost impossible to find an example with everything included from the beginning on. - IMO, after all, it was worthwhile to skip all those previous F50 offers (even on the chance of being the ever nitpicking fellow). My F50 is the most compleat and by far lowest miles F50 (about 3' miles) of the ones I checked (the low miles argument need to be proved to be an advantage hopefully so). In addition I had not to pay 12% VAT and import tax to Switzerland as the car was offered already in my home country. The difference will pay full coverage insurance, MOT and street tax for more than 10 years. Honestly the only thing I do not have is a copy of the official letter from di Montezemolo. I have written him a personal letter. Will see if he will react to a normal mortal like me. - Since the car had to get missing parts from the factory, I was more happy to have Swiss legal contracts in my back in case "things" should prove unavailable than else. - Kessel Racing SA in Lugano is the official F-Dealer of south Switzerland. Carmen Valnegri is the managing director lady there working for the Kessel company over 40 years. She knew Enzo Ferrari personally as her boss, Loris Kessel, which passed away last year raced in Formula 1. Her big heart and more than very helpful contacts to Ferrari officials helped to get everything together in a smooth and very fast way. For once, indicated factory delivery times for any items were met on time or even faster. I'm happy to be supported on a additional new network on F-things. - It was a new kind of experience to realize that many seller, dealers or so called "experts" I contacted on my path have/had no clue about the F50's as a product with its specific technique or supplements. I.e. 3 of them did not know that the cams are chain driven. - I thank Boxer for all the support to keep me hungry towards the F50 after some initial "hangover" on unsuccessful first attemps. - I thank you all in the forum to be such a critical, open and responsive bunch of enthusiasts, helping to find out about each ones personal path to F-heaven. Thanks. |
