Awesome! Looks like improved brakes and bigger rims? Nice.

Yes, the car came with 18' OZ's and Brembo race disks (original discs and wheels came with it).

I had the 17' origonal disks on the car lately. Its a huge difference in stability at high speeds in favor of the 18' OZ's.

Sorry I meant 18' wheels, not disks

Fantastic! What a machine, still so impressive after all these years.

It shows how long it is since I was last on here, I didn't know you had the F40. It looks absolutely fantastic, you must be very pleased. Last time I was on here you were still pondering over an F50 and had just bought your Daytona.

Yes, Archie, you're right. Sometimes things just seem to develop out of nowhere: 1. A wonderful Daytona on offer, 2. my "weak side" for the classic Ferrari's (even after the many already driven and owned), 3. a great offer for a F40, 4. and my missed (read: messed up by me) opportunity for a great F50 in London 2 years ago, brought me to this combination of a Daytona and a F40. For me a wonderful combination. Both important street Ferraris in respect to Ferrari's whole street car history, and a wonderful combination from a pure, pure drivers view.

The F50 is still my absolut dream car, yes and honest. Visiting Boxer 1 month ago and seeing his perfect F50 reassured my feelings toward that beauty. However, the great thing atm about my 2 Ferraris is that I drive them very, very often, at least once a week each. The F40 was bought 4 month ago and I drove it 6'000 km's so far, the Daytona, I bought 18 month ago and drove it 17'000 km's so far. The F50 would be different. I'm sure I would't drive it a quarter as often as the F40 (but that would need to be proved).
Actually a F50 was offered to me last week, low mileage, slightly above average price but no import! So I started to fantasize again. As my space gets limited to a total of 4 cars (2 daily drivers and 2 Ferrari's), either the Daytona or the F 40 needed to go, and I would have a very hard time to decide which ? So I better do not start it all over......or should I?

You can always rent or buy storage space, 212export. I'm thinking of getting a second garage myself...

Agree. But I like to keep it "small". 2 F's are o.k., 3 would cut into the other 2 driving time wise. And I would hate to drive 10 or 20 minutes to another garage only to be able to pick up my car. Just to much dependencies.
I have been gifted with driving wonderful F's in the last many years and sometimes I think instead of fantasizing about increasing the stable I should rather think about decreasing it. Less is sometimes more. The 1 or 2 only stable may was a reason to really DRIVE the cars a lot, when I had them.

The 18" OZ's suit the F40 very well.

Something to consider for next year.....

Thought at you when testing the different wheels. I was particularly testing a nearby Autobahn on which the surface has been rebuild to great quality. At least my car prooved much more stable running on the OZ's.

That would be nice! Come by Lugano when spring temperatures pick up again. After a little ride it is quite nice with a sit down at Principe Leopoldo.
