No Chris its a pattern that looks JUST like the real thing and after you put your clear on it its tough.

Mark, me either! My son has a cold process bed liner spraying company but he does commercial work for foundations on houses, gas tanks for Dad, truck beds, flat roofs that leak so on, he was telling me about this and said he was going to buy the process to make it happen, I didn't even know what it was till he showed me a gun (AR-15) with camo on it. Now I see all sort of stuff I can do on a car or engine.

I am going to waterjet out some new exhaust flanges today out of .375 304 SS, if any of you want the DXF cad file for these send me a email and I will send you the file. Then I will start the fabrication of the headers for the twin turbo's, I've been dragging my feet on this for awhile but need to get it done. I have the AEM ECU wired up and communicating with the software, now I will have to read a couple hundred pages of the manual to figure it out the different parameters, if you look you can see I put the ignition amplifier on the other side of the car to try and prevent EMF, the primary side of the coils is 570VDC and when firing creates a good amount of interference. (at least with electromotive)

I noticed a while back these cracks which I am point out, its ether from tracking the car many years ago and having a stiffer suspension or from the torque of the engine or both, either way I will have to repair them. Do any of you have these cracks?

Mine(84 QV) had the same cracks when I got it....mine were actually a bit more separated and the sheet metal was tearing at the track welds. I just welded it back together, added some extra weld to the sheet metal and it's been fine since.

Will do the same as you, I don't recall them on the other 308s I have had.

Thanks

Default 304 SS exhaust flanges

I cut the new exhaust flanges from 304 .375 Stainless, here are some pics. If any of you need the CAD file, I would be happy to send it.

Leaving Sunday for Big Bend Open Road Race in SW Texas, soon as I get back the following week I will be making some exhaust manifolds.

Awesome. How thick is the stainless that you used?

I would like to take the credit but its a machine and if you tell it to do something correctly it spits out a perfect product. I guess digitizing the old flange would be my only honor on this production.

I'm racing an 91 NSX this year, the GT40 tires are over 3 years old and will not pass tech, the NSX has 1 year old tires and speed rated. Its a coupe, not sure why the camera made it look like a convertible. I need a good camera like yours!

Just got back from the open road race last night, its such a long drive there and back (1600 miles) and after the adrenalin rush of racing you really get tired and then have to drive home.

There was one 78 308 GTS there in the race, it was not running right, I told the owner I would mind looking at it for him but he didn't take me up on the offer. Sounded like it was running on 6 out of 8 and he still raced it and finished but in the 90 MPH average, I could not believe he drove it in that condition for 118 miles but he did!

Whaaaat!! He didn't know who you were??

Must have been the ego side that didn't want the help. His lose.

Glad you made it back home in one piece Jack.

Well done! Man, that is one heck of a hike to get to a race. I complain about having to drive 70 miles down to the kart track!

Next year you've got to take the 208!

Absolutely! I am planing on it, they had a new Mclaren racing and many other exotic NEW cars but very few older dignified purebreds like the 308, 75% are corvettes and bang for the buck you can't beat them but if you have to use your key fob to find your car in a parking lot of many just like yours its not my cup of tea.

You hit it on the head, Jack. Well put.

I want a Z06 in the worst way, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'd be much smarter if I could, but alas I run into the same issue. Dare to be different, I suppose.

You will never loose money on a Ferrari or Lamborghini if you buy the right one, a Z06 will not go up in value. IMHO
