If you're like me and can't ever remember the formula to calculate dynamic or even static compression, lobe centerlines for cams, piston & rod speeds, etc. and don't want to launch EPA or other heavyweight engine performance program just to calculate something simple, here's a page that has many useful single purpose calculators in one place: Wallace Racing - Automotive Calculators '99 550, Rosso Corsa / Nero, S/N:114654, Assy: 31836, Engine: 52084 High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars. |

Ack!!! Flashback to my drag racing days, but a fond flashback. I loved doing the numbers, and always challenged myself on reaching for the projected, theoretical limits of performance. While many of the others were just chasing down lower ET's and faster trap speeds, I was happy comparing my time slips to the projected numbers in my notebook. I find it slightly amusing that there's a Free Fall calculator and a Mortgage Refinance calculator on a page dedicated to racing performance. "Do I jump now, or put the house in hock...again?" |
