I would of course use a much better cam but I don't think using Mark's is really a good option considering the flow. Adding 4v (or 5v!) heads starts making the project silly cost-wise and I cannot justify it other then that it would be incredibly cool and powerful once completed. The efficient way is not quite as interesting but I can justify doing it. I can also employ a Hayabusa TB arrangement such as Sean's and not worry about further needs cfm-wise.
Now don’t blame it on t me. All I said was the 308 2V port is really f***ed-up and hard to fix, I didn’t say it can’t be fixed….it turns out money will fix just about any problem

Question for you Mark. Stock 2v intakes: for some improvement what areas are normally worked? Bowl work, short side, runner? If these things can be ported for at least some improvement, I would certainly like to have it done. I really don't want to get into a ton of welding even if that means that is the 100% way of doing it. The cost of doing that might as well set me up with a pair of 4v heads ya know.

I *think* Steve's answer was to simply add 2mm to the intake valve to actually make more of a short turn, as stock it is pretty much non-existant.

Default head flow and cam theory

Mark
please read posts and threads of Alfar7 @ the AlfaRomeoBB Bulletin board website. there have been many discussions on similar notions as this thread . Alfar7 builds his own cams. He is much respected Alfa racer and project master, there are lots of dissenters but most appreciate his theories about reduced rpms versus torque. There are few cams for Alfas that have been widely used and some newer ones based on later cam theory. Its a really good read albeit spread around a bit.

I was looking for some commentary, please.

No Detail Too Small Not To Obsess Over
