Agreed. Lookin' good, Pizzaman!

I was watching a show today on experimental aircraft, aka kit planes, and one of the guys was running Electromotive coils. It was pretty cool to see.

Guys, i want to use the same metal fuel line to feed the runners. I was going to use these:

"Hard Line Tubing Adapter, Female A.N. Black Bright Dip Anodized"

I got 2 options on size. Both are -6 one is for 5/16 tubing and the other for 3/8 tubing

I measured the line and its .3250" Which one do i need?

Chris, this really doesn't address your question, but I'd have 2nd thoughts about reusing a piece of 25+ year old metric hardline, and using imperial fittings with it. Especially on a fuel system.

I'd probably look into going with a piece of either SS tubing or normal steel tubing, sized for the fittings that you have. That or a properly swaged hose from a Parker store - they can be done with a black cover if you don't want the blingy bright SS look.

High mileage, low compression, and missing on a few cylinders.....just like my cars.

Ok, I'll check it out.

But if I decide to go the cheap way, which one am I looking at? 5/16 or 3/8?

Hey man, I'd lean a bit towards what the other guys are saying. Instead of trying to figure out how to fit an AN fitting on the old hard line, why not just run ss braided hose from the stock filter to the rail? That's what I planned to do originally before I swapped to the A1000 fuel pump and Aeromotive filter.

Come to think of it, I still have the -AN adapter that I got from a metric hose shop out in California. It screws into the Bosch filter in place of the OEM fitting and allows you to go right from the filter to -6AN hose.

If you decide to go that route, I bet I could be convinced to throw it in the mail in exchange for some pizza the next time I'm in NH.

Man, if all three of you are saying to change it, then by gollie, looks like I'll have to change it.

I just gave it a quick looksy this morning and by the looks of it, I will be cursing for a few days trying to remove it.

Bret, thanks for the offer. But I got to give you something for it. And btw, I don't have any pictures, but from where do I remove it from? The damper?

What damper? Are you talking about about the old fuel accumulator next to the pump? If so remove it and don't use it, you will not need it, those where for Bosch CIS system. Just run some EFI fuel hose from Jegs or Summit with the proper connection. -6 should work fine.

Pizza is always on the house when you visit anyways.

Here's some samples for you.

We got a nice Greek pizza. There feta cheese, tomatoes, garlic, olives and mozzarella cheese.
And then we got the famous Veggie Supreme pizza. Peppers, onions, mushroom, olives, tomatoes, eggplant and mozzarella cheese.

Yeah, thats what I meant to say.

I found a picture of it, when the engine was out of course. So I got to remove the black hose pipe that connects from the fuel pump to the bottom of the accumulator.

You know, I got to give it up for Bret. He removed his with the engine in and he has tackled the most tedious little things that I still don't know how he did it. The wiring is one example. The two little hoses that connect the pipe to the fuel tanks is another. That was done with the engine in and he did it using floor jacks.

Bret, I salute you buddy.

Hey man, you can go about it a few ways. Jack's 100% right that you don't need the accumulator anymore, and really the best way to do it is to take it out. That said, I was going to run my car with the accumulator still in place because I didn't want to go through the hassle of finding the right fitting to run from the fuel pump to -AN hose. It wont hurt anything to leave it in.

If you leave the accumulator in, you just have to make up a piece of -6AN hose to run from the filter to the fuel rail using the adapter that I'll send you. And no, you absolutely don't owe me anything. You already treated Allison and I to lunch before and I'll never use the adapter now that I have the Aeromotive fuel pump.

Just for reference (or anyone looking this thread up in the future), it's a 12x1.5mm to -6AN adapter.

This is where you'd remove the steel fuel line, then remove the OEM filter adapter (it unscrews out of the filter). Then screw in the adapter that I'll send and voila, you're in business. Just make up a piece of -6AN hose to go from the filter to the fuel rail.

Two asides:
1. You have -6AN fittings on the fuel rails, right?
2. Can you email me your address again. I'm sure I have it somewhere, but if you have a minute it'd be nice.
3. What are you using for a regulator and how are you plumbing the return line back to the tank?

You didn't put those goodyear fuel tank crossover hoses in yet?!? Oh man, I've got to get my car running and get up to NH sooner than I thought.

Joking aside, a touch of white lithium grease and a lot of spit make the hoses a heck of a lot easier to slide in place. The real question is how did Mark get the wire reinforced hoses from McMaster-Carr in that same place. I ordered them by accident not knowing that he had used them. I took one look and put them back in my hose bin. Lol.

By the way, thanks for the kind words. Chris, you make it a lot of fun for the rest of us.

Ok, so i remove it from the top of the accumulator then? When you said filter, you meant that, right? (first picture with yellow.

1. Yes
2. I will.
3. I got a regulator TWM had sent. So far i'm connecting it at the end of the rail and then run a hose to one of those nipples at the pessengers side gas tank. I dont know if i should make a longer hose connection from the rail to the tank though?

Chris why don't you think about putting the fuel line and fuel pressure regulator on the left side of the TBs, this will shorten all that plumbing up. Bret is correct, leaving that accumulator will not hurt anything. I guess I am to apt to rip things out. I do like that big filter that ferrari uses, and its already mounted.

Chris,

I have a bunch of Aeroquip fittings/hose -6 and -8 left over from my build. Let me know what you need and if I have it its yours! Hope all is going well, Bill.
