Congratulations Alex.

Is the car going to be a keeper or will you be selling it on later?

If the former, you copuld get your mechanic to do everything and with the $$$ you save, spend it on things like (assuming off course they are not done already) damper refurbishment (£60 each), replace suspension bushes (£650 for rubber or £150 for plastic), suspension geometry set up (£350), replace all hoses (£200), update the alternator (£95), new spark leads (£150), new Hills tensioners £220) etc

You'll end up with a car as good as new.

Don't forget the sports exhaust.

Wow...a black 348 spider.

That looks awesome.

May I suggest some 355 wheels to finish it off.

+ 1 Or 360 rims here is what it looks like on mine, it realy updates the cars look instead of the original boat anchors...

Ps not to worry you but your top does not look right there should be no hump or bulge in the middle.

Stunning car! Congratulations!!!!

So many great pictures today, seems like all Ferrari owners are having a good time (except for the F1, of course)

Enjoy it, the car is amazing!

Welcome to the site Alex and grats on your beautiful car. I would say black on black gives the ferrari a mean look. I like it.

Ha, thats a great pic of you with that look of triumph. I remember the time I got mine, wish I had someone take a photo. Now just drive that baby.

Maybe you and Saint Bastage can drive down to Jersey and party over at atlantic city.

Hey Guys!

Yes, still smiling and I can't stop! The Spider is running well and a conversation piece every where I go or at the traffic light.

So Pete you are right! New Jersey could be trouble especially three guys in Ferrari's.

Greg- don't be jealous just come over and :drive: mine !

Saint Bastage- I live in Bethany, CT. but before any long driving I want to get the 30K done!

(?) what should I do with the middle console where the keys are and the gauges (see pic) i'ts very sticky. Any sites I can go to buy it new or suggestions, please!

Thanks again to all-Alex

This is not uncommon on 348s and F355s. A couple of places make carbon fiber replacements (I have seen them advertised in Forza magazine) otherwise you best bet is to buy a replacement from a company that breaks Ferraris. In the UK Eurospares might have one, not sure in the US.

GCalo might be able to help.

I would go with Boxer's suggestion about seeing if you can get the carbon fiber replacement. Or, like Boxer said, buy a used one from a Ferrari wrecking yard. You can look worldwide on this, shipping isn't that much from the UK for such a small piece, probably $30.

The option I would suggest, should the above 2 fail, would be to go to a shop that specializes in boat upholstery. If you can remove it they may be able to replace it with a marine-grade vinyl. There are plenty of marinas in CT, any one of them would be able to direct you to an upholsterer.

My last suggestion, and the one you want to try first, would be to try Castrol Super-Clean. You should be able to get it at any parts store. It may take the sticky off but it might discolor the leather. Spray it on the rag and apply it rather than spraying it all over your gauges and buttons. If it does take off the stickyness you can put some shoe polish on the leather to bring back the color and shine.

You can use oven cleaner, spray some on a cloth and dab on then rub off, a little elbow grease there you go like new, you might want to refinish or repaint after rubbing off.

I will try the elbow grease first and if that doesn't work I will try Boxer's or Pete's idea.

Thanks!
