Default Any other ATE brake caliper alternative?

It looks like the calipers on my gt4 are standard ATE parts with the middle spacer in it but does anybody know of other car that run the same ones? Calipers online are around 300 bucks a piece are they look very similar to late 70s/early 80's BMW calipers with should be much cheaper for the same thing. Anybody know off hand if there are other alternatives for later down the road? I believe the rears are the same as a Porsche 914/6 if I recall. Fronts could be 74- 89 911? Can anybody confirm from their experience?

Yes Jay, you can use parts from Porche 914 and some Earlier 911's,Two years ago my Master Cyl took a Dump I rebuilt it allso rebuilt the Front Calipers, the kits were from a 914 with ATE Brakes,Also if you need Wheel bearings I found that the Volvo 1600 has the same as the 308,Ferrari used alot of outsourcing, hope this helps.

If the front calipers are the same as the 308 then VW Kombi has exactly the same front calipers.

Ok I'm going to go ahead and do that brakes on the gt4 now. From what I have found out it looks like I will need 84-89 911 front calipers with 24 mm spacing and then 914/6 rear calipers (which seem like a bear to find)

Any rotor alternative? Volvo with 5 x 108 bolt pattern?

Thanks

Hi Jay,

I have spare 308 front calipers cheap and a single 308 rear rotor cheap if needed. Please shoot me an email if interested. Many other 308 parts too.

Best...Jim
