I found a clean red 348 ts 17 miles from my house here in Arkansas, its got 22k on the clock and no service records, clean title and has tools and manuals. Car has been touched up on the rock chips but over all pretty nice. This would be my first 348 so all your information is valuable. Thanks

Thanks guys, keep them coming! I have had a TR, bbi512, one mondial and 3 308s, and a 208 turbo but never anything this new. I remember when the 348 first came out and took a ride in one, I thought it to be a real nice car. But then again what Ferrari isn't.

There have been numerous pre-purchase discussions regarding 348 / 355 engines and you should heed. - Have a PPI - should include a leakdown and pressure test - The QUALIFIED mechanic of YOUR choosing who has worked on these engines before should let you know if all service bulls have been performed. - I would since no records exist or you know not whom did the last major service, factor in that cost to the price: About $8-9K! easily. If alternator needs work factor that in, if water pump needs work factor that in, and absolutely change the tension bearings to Hill's and replace the Vapor recirc canister. Matter of fact check that air intake manifold. - check to see what lights stay on/ and how they go off in regards to engine lights [combustion etc.] and the leveling lights: Might need a rebuild on the shocks, so factor in about $500/shock - brakes of course. - power steering unit, check carefully - check the radiator for leaks and corrosion...don't know how long that stuff has been in there. - check the seat mice: MINOR, but a negotiation factor to lower the price as most likely a 50/50 not working properly. - check the seal on the top---car wash! - CHECK the front Wheel bearings: VERY EXPENSIVE, about $800-1,200/each side. More importantly find one! have I given you a downer yet? Don't despare. I don't know your reasons for a 348 or alternatives.ask away. - Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic Rik -- LAH !
