My passenger side door latch on the door and the striker on the body is junk so I am wondering if the Fiat x19 door latch assembly will work. There is a parts car in the local Atlanta area and I could get the whole thing cheap if it would work. The exterior handles look close....

I recall reading somewhere that they were the same part. I'l try to find the article (though I've read so much over the last few months about the GT4 that it may be difficult!)

I remember it as well before I bought mine but when I noticed mine needed to be replaced I started scrambling to find where I read that.

Found on another site. Don't take it as gospel, but seems like it might be a safe bet.

The X1/9 door handles are a direct replacement for the GT4 handles. But on the X1/9 the base of the handle is made of plastic, while the GT4 are metal. All of the other parts are identical. The base is a non wear item, so I would pick up an X1/9 unit, and cannibalize it for parts to repair your original.

Alternatively look at http://www.eurospares.co.uk/breaking.asp. They're breaking a couple of 308 GT4s so you might pick up a door handle at the right price there.
