F355 Can anyone ID this part from a 95 355?

Can anyone identify this part? I found it on the floor of my garage after I backed my 1995 F355 out. The car seems to be running fine with no CEL.
The bottom of the part is a very fine metal mesh screen.
My mechanic viewed this pic and does not think it is a Ferrari part.

looks like the fuel filter from a motorcycle tank but you are showing it upside down.
