I have an issue that started today with my turn signals. When i turn them on (either side) , nothing happens. I checked the fuse and all is OK. The flasher is on the same fuse circuit and when i flip it on, the flashers all work fine. Once after the flasher was shut off, and i put the turn signal on , i did get some reaction from the relay (it buzzed, rattled) but did not go into its normal mode of off - on etc. Any thoughts on the problem? Fuse and fuse connection is very good. Could it be the relay or something with the switch? Ed Montini 330 GT 8289 |

Try switching the relay out and see if that solves the problem. I had a similar problem once on my 308 GTB and replacing the relay solved it.

I thought the turn signal and flasher might be required to be separate, but US DOT says they can be combined and so does the international reg. The relay receives power through a much more circuitous route from the turn signals than it does for the hazard flasher, so it is entirely possible a combination of less contact in the turn signal circuit and a weakening relay would do exactly what Boxer suggested. It would work fine with the flasher and not with the turn signal stalk.

Flasher switches often cause that problem. All turn signal functions go through the emergency flasher switch.

For a friend and I, it was the emergency flasher switch. One of them, I flipped the flasher switch a bunch of times, and had to hold it part way and the turn signal woke up.

| It's a common item, you can get it at any auto parts store.

Thanks for the advise - i replaced the flasher and still get no response from the turn signals - - flasher continues to work fine - - looks like ill take the flasher switch out and check the switch and wiring. Is there an online file that has the wiring diagram for the 308 - specifically from the steering column switch of the turn signal, thru the relay - flasher switch etc? Ed Montini 330 GT 8289 |
