83 308 needs air pump

My air pump seized long ago and now you know whoever wants emission inspections again. I know it's a GM pump but I'm getting different part numbers and different models of Gm cars that used the same pump. Can you give me the correct model or part number? I need to get my 308 GTSI inspected and registered. Thanks.

Take the pump to your local Autozone or the like. They will have one and know what it is without even looking.

At my local autozone they can't give me a hose clamp without the year, make, model of the car

Jeez. What happened to people who knew parts. I remember some parts guys who could look at a part off of damn near anything and know the year, make, model and what other cars used it and when a manufacturer stopped using it.......

Yeah, that guy was the store owner or got paid $15-20/hr and knew which part was the best value for what application, what fit what, and all kinds of other good stuff.

Now we have autozone where you get crappy parts from minimum wage high school dropouts. They offer "lifetime" warranty parts based on an understanding that your car will probably die before the 6-12 month life expectancy shit part they gave you.....I had a car not even run when I installed new plug wires from one of the discount chain stores.

It's worse. it's that they wont even talk to you without year, make, model. You want them to think & work? What?!?!?

For my '83, I decided just to go to GT Car parts & bought the right one.

Thanks for the ideas. I got one asking for a '78 Buick pump and it has the same part number on the casing.
