As fate would have it after I assembled the car I got the dreaded yellow light on the instrument cluster indicating a shock absorber actuator failure. I knew that the rear ones were working perfectly as I "heard/felt" them rotate when the ignition was energised so it was either the front ones or the control unit. Wishing to make my life as difficult as possible I started from the control unit in the car. As you can see there is little that the eye will identify but what I did find interesting is that the electrical components are marked Ferrari. |

I traced the fault to the front left actuator which in a right hand drive car is located underneath the ABS Control unit and relay cluster. Once you remove the 2 locking nuts that hold the ABS unit and remove it out the way you have a lot of space to remove the actuator. Now I need to find an actuator as mine is dead. |

If the motors on top of the shocks are working, it will be good to pull them off .................. make sure the gear on top of the shock looks good and does not spin all the way around. The gear should have stops 90° of rotation apart.
