On offer from Mike Sheehan..... We are pleased to offer 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series II s/n 4069. This is a very nice, user-friendly, pride-of-ownership 250 GTE, priced very right at $109,500. Very good Black Metallic paint. Excellent body. Good older Tan leather. Very good Tobacco carpets. Restored in the 1980s with the original photo album showing the down-to-bare-metal repaint and serviced by the last owner with $16,894.66 in receipts. Matching numbers. A nice older restoration, runs and drives well with great brakes and suspension. Just put through an extensive inspection and pre-purchase, runs very nicely, good oil pressure, minimal smoke. Overdrive works well, all gauges operating correctly. Complete with the original tool roll with most tools, the jack and the hub-puller. Also has the Richard Merritt Operating, Maintenance and Service handbook and the Prancing Horse Motors maintenance manual. Very good Michelin XWX tires on very nice Borrani wire wheels wire with an excellent Michelin XWX spare tire and Borrani wire. |

Lovely car for the money, isn't it? Provided it is the car for your 'position in life'. Won't do much for the Tokyo Drift gang... ![]() Onno |

Beautiful car, I still don't understand why they are so undesirable. I would buy it if i had the money. Lets hope it doen't become another GT or GTO clone

| Most likely their unloved because they are a) rather heavy to their 2 seater "sisters" b) repair costs mechanically and for the body could be staggering c) price potential to the upside (after deducting high costs on holding them longer) is rather limited as the past clearly shows d) potential buyer and lovers of a classic Ferrari's often are in a financially healthy condition to look up to 330 GTC's and further, therefore negating some "not so racy looking" Ferrari classics e) its a 4 seater (as almost all 4 seater Ferraris) are experiencing a rather neglected status.

Nice analysis, 212Export. I do think, though, that these cars will be more appreciated in future. But you're right - they are just as expensive to repair and maintain as the more desirable ones, which makes their running or restoration costs very high compared to their worth. There is a nice article on the 250PF Coupe in the Classic & Sportscar this month, which is a model that has had similar lack of attention in the past. Onno |

The PF' felt like a tractor, the GTE was already much more civilized (being 3 years younger) but I always liked the elegant shape of the PF a little more. After the twins as kids no. 2 and 3 were born, I tried to put the twin seater baby wagon without wheels in the trunk of the 250 GTE....it was to small by 2 inches....so it had to go, the GTE that was (how dumb a decision....because 1 year later child No. 4 came around the corner and it would anyway not matter anymore at all!)

Just read the C&S article on the 250 PF. Can't say that it was very inspiring from a driving perspective. The 330 GTC has to be infinitely more desirable. Still a very lovely car. I wouldn't mind having one. I always thought these cars had a "James Bond" appeal to them. Not really a sportscar but rather a high performance sedan.

| Fine, thanks. Reality has hit and I'm back in the desert, working. I saw your old GTC at a classic Ferrari meet a year or two ago. She was looking in fine condition. Can't argue with you there! She's been everything I was hoping for and more.Onno |

Driving like a tractor is absolutely correct, but that also means that the Boano cars, Europa, Etc. also drive like a tractor, but I sure wouldn't pass on one for that flaw.
