The red tape, registration, transfer, etc. is complete now and this car is officially under my care. Went to pick up the papers and keys today and got to drive "her" for 20 minutes or so in the traffic of Yokohama (not for this kind of car). That was few hours ago. Commitments and bad weather prevented me to take her to a better driving situation. Even tho it was a short stint in moderate traffic w/ lights everywhere,...the driving sensation was a refreshing one to say the least. When I tried moving her out of the parking structure, can you believe I stalled three times cause I wasn't used to the response and behavior. Definitely different from a "similar" V12 Daytona and other Ferraris. I thought my Daytona was razor sharp in throttle response and how sensitive that rpm needle moved up and down, this 275GTB is on another par. Seems like it is asking for more gas and air to behave happy and listen to you. She's telling me that I need more than that to be happy, come on ! I do not consider myself to be any skilled driver nor do I drive very, very fast, pushing cars' to their limits, but yet I can FEEL that this 275GTB is very close to what one may consider to be a pure (whatever this means) sports car. In contrast, Daytona is more powerful but probably more of a GT in manners. When I compare the acceleration of 275GTB to my Daytona, there's is a clear difference in weight sensations and how this car takes off in forward motion. I see that the "bonding" with this car was immediate, starting at the moment you place your 6'2" body in that driver's seat. Feedbacks were immediate and accurate. You know right away if you are not handling the car in her desires and she would let you know. No mercy. I was never beyond the 3rd gear(very brief) and even then had to keep braking all the time in the city traffic. Interior space was wonderful stimulating all of your sensations. It felt a tad cozier than the Daytona but nevertheless spacious enough for my stature of 6'2" & 160lbs. Terminal leg room at the pedals also felt slightly more tight than the Daytona. Mechanicals, like clutch and steering, were heavy but not as much as the Daytona. Let me stop here because with such limited driving time in unfavorable streets, that's about all I can say. To be continued. w/ smiles Jimmy

Jimmy, Car looks fantastic, congrats again. Not to divulge too much info or pry, but I'm curious having lived there for two years I wonder, are you able to park all your cars at home or is there a private garage/club that keeps these wonderful cars secure? |

| Thanx for your kind words, Andrew. How's your injured hand ? Hope the pain is gone at least. Yes, living space, parking space, SPACE, ...big problem here in Japan. I can "park" five cars in my home lot (in front of the house) but the space is a carport, meaning it has roof above. It is not an enclosed garage. I lease couple of parking spaces nearby (10 minutes away). That's an enclosed mechanical parking structure. The rest of the cars are located at my friend's car dealer in Tokyo. I need a garage !!!!! w/ smiles Jimmy

Fantastic, Jimmy. Great to hear the two of you are bonding already (but no great surprise). It's also very nice to hear how different that car is from a Daytona. Keep the reports coming, I love reading them. Onno |

Jimmy, congratulations for having that wonderful "beast" finally at your "fingertips". I would give a lot to just sit next in the passenger seat and enjoy that unmistakingly lighter, nimbler moving/steering than on many (any) vintage Ferrai's. But hold on Jimmy.............whats that ?! On the other thread, you have showed photographs of a Alloy "long nose" 275 GTB with a correct 2cam engine.....but now....I see a 4 cam engine on those pictures. Sorry but I have not checked the chassis number yet........but have you bought a 4 cam alloy 275 GTB? Sorry I'm a little confused, but which pictures are the correct one's to your actual car...the 2 cam or the 4 cam engine ? |

| 212Export, you are absolutely right. I made the error and posted the wrong pic (a 4cam/6carb) that I took in LA. See how confused my brain is ? Here's the correct 2 cam/3 carb engine pics). My apologies for the confusion. w/ smiles Jimmy

| You know that I would LOVE to partake in the upcoming FLED2 with the wonderful group, if it weren't for the reality of obligations and responsibilities on my shoulder. Yes, your proposition is a dream come true. As a matter of fact, when I first saw this 275GTB, it had an unfamiliar license plate on it. (It has "TKS 330 TA9486" on it, which I have never seen before, alphabets are not used like this normally). The broker explained that this number plate was acquired by the previous owner for exporting to Italy and that one can drive in Europe with this plate ? Upon checking the documents given to me by this owner, this is an international registration certificate officialized by the Japanese government (license plates) and that the owner intended to participate in the 2002-2003 Italian Historic Road Races. If I can join, you can drive this 275GTB as much as you want, and that would make me very happy to see that. Well, looks like I have to pass this event and look forward to another opportunity beyond due to the aformentioned reasons. Too many things to take care of at this moment. ... ... ... w/ smiles Jimmy

Jimmy; At 6ft 2inch & less than 80 kilos, Might I suggest a "Double Cheese Burger" with french fries & a "large milkshake", obviously Jimmy has no chance at a "Sumo Career", with the kind of substantial monetary means it takes to own a "Moving Piece of Art", The only thing "FAT" about Jimmy is his WALLET!!!, All the BEST with your lastest masterpiece, Jimmy, I hope the Raven Haired, Ruby Lipped, Porcelain Skinned, Japanese Companion in the passenger seat is as Beautiful,...As the "CAR"...
