Default Help on Dad's 330

Hello everyone. I've been keeping an eye on my father's house and cars while he's away on vacation with his girlfriend. He has a '67 330GTS 2+2, as well as a '96 Bentley Azure and a little Mini Cooper for the times when the previous aren't running(like now). My dad instructed me not to touch either cars, but being twenty-four, I couldn't help myself. I took the 330 out for a quick spin last friday, and on the way back the engine felt sluggish. Since I don't live with my father on a normal basis, I had no idea about the service of the car other than what he told me, which is not much. So, in an effort to correct my misdoings, I decided to change all twelve spark plugs and change the oil. I couldn't afford the recommended oil, so I had to settle for the dollar-store brand. As I was letting it drain out, it got pretty black as the last started to come out. Twenty minutes later and there was still a small strand, so I figured the engine was gunked up. I looked on ask.com and it recommended that I flush the engine, so I took off the oil cap and put in the hose, and ran some water through it for about an hour to clean it out. After which, I added the oil and now the car won't even start. Any suggestions? I only have about two more weeks until my dad's return.

Oh, man.....pop the corn...

just kidding man, looks like you'll need a pro for this....but, water in the oil isn't unusual...don't do what you did again [I see why dad told you not to touch], but thinking you'll need a lot more oil to go through that system and more filters than one can shake a stick.

Guessing you also got the distributor wet?....plugs too??, maybe more???

oh, ya' and welcome...... :{}

Yes, the whole engine compartment was pretty much soaked. About 20 minutes ago I tried to start it again and this time, the engine rumbled around for a few seconds and now nothing happens at all.

are you an only child dads are quite forgiving if so

otherwise.....guessing there might be a will change coming soon.

Um, gotta ask, seriously, you can change sparkplugs and oil but took a water hose to interior of engine?

We here on Ferrari Life, well, are a nicer sort.

This is him working on the oil thang and trying to cover up with a good spray job....gotta look closely as, it's in there.

Think dad'll notice?

Guessing from his fine work on engines he'll be a snap on oil repairs too...few welds and ready to go.

OMG: LIKE the WORST Engine rebuild EVER

I just do not know what to say. I cannot believe a kid would do something sooooooooooooooo stupid as to take his father`s prized possession out, and to top it off, try to fix it by changing oil, running water through the engine, and I don`t know what else. I wonder if his mother set him up to do this for his father taking a hot chick out on vacation. Something just does not add up.
