Default GTO 5095 Sold.

To someone in Scotland apparently (been saving Marlin?)
For $18m.
Gone from long term storage in Germany and previously owned by the Chairman of Samsung.
Hopefully this car will be out & being used soon.

Wow. This has to be a new high by at least 50%. Hopefully F40's will catch up in value soon.

Andrew - apparently, yes
14m euro by all accounts.
Now I think Steve Pilkington got in the region of £5m (Stirling) for his when sold to Irvine Laidlaw early in 2005, but it was pretty rough!
Undoubtedly they will Boxer!!!!!!

I know, what with the McQueen Lusso & the Calif Spider at Monterey
Not sure if it's all gonna grind to a halt or not..........I'm sure people with far more acumen than I here can give an opinion?

There is still seems to be a lot of cash looking for the right cars. I do not see anything changing in the short term as regards Ferraris. US muscle cars on the other hand have had their day in the sun. Just my 2.5 cents.

the Cali i can understand a bit at least
1 of 7 alu bodied, with racing history and been with the same owner for over 20 years in perfect condition

i was on the first row to see that car sell
but RM had a few other suprise high sellers (not only ferrari's) & then some suprise NOT sellers

the muscle cars crazyness seems to be calmed down a bit now, they are coming down a bit again and only seriously good cars get the top money

It is an amazing price for an amazing car. The GTO is the most magical car I've ever experienced.

18 million for the GTO. That is the most money I've ever heard of for a Ferrari. Astonishing!! .....18 million!
