Indeed Boxer. People always ask me how fast my MKII goes. I have no idea, I've never had it above 70mph. But every time I drive it, I'm transported to another time and place. Same goes for my TR4A. It can't compete with a modern Honda or even a Cinquacento, but it doesn't matter one iota. I cannot wait for that same experience in the 150S, I expect it to be even more so.

Of all the narcissists I know, I love me the most.

Certainly true for me. Although I push my GTC on occassion and have clocked 140mph in her, and I do drive her sportingly, the experience is much more than performance. Most of the kilometers I do are simply savouring the noise, the gear shift, the view over the bonnet, the feeling part of the history of the car, enjoying the simple knowledge that very few people have been lucky enough to sit where I'm sitting at that time. It is a car that puts a smile on your face even if you don't drive it at all. It's a reasonable investment (for a car), and it's gorgeous.

At that speed, did you have any issues with the front end going light?

No dangerous weaving but she does become a little light in the nose. Enough to get your attention but not enough to get scared. Braking from that speed seems to take forever, though.

My experience w/ both GTCs did have this issue. So I have a self imposed 130 mph limit I learned from my 1st.

Sounds very sensible. I had a similar rule on the 365BB.

At what speed limit did you impose on your 365BB? I had my 512 BB up to 155 and it felt solid as a rock. The suspension revisions made by Carobu really keep my hot rod BB well planted.

The 365BB was fine up to 130-140 mph and then it started to feel light. The 512BB was good for another 20 mph but I think 160 was as high as I ever pushed it. The front lip spoiler on the 512BB did make a difference.

I think this states the lure of vintage Ferrari so succinctly:
