Hi, i'm just getting into my 1st ownership of a ferrari, I have been looking for a Daytona & last week was offered a nice car done by Autocraft, the car is in excellent condition, but has limited history! although it is priced similar to a nice coupe - what are the general opinions of the forum, buy a well historied coupe, or a nice Daytona conversion with limited history for the same cash? - i look forward to all comments, Regards, Andy. |

I'm with 212. But I think this is also based on personal preference - I don't worship the Daytona Spider like some other people do. For me, the Coupe is much more desirable. If you really want a GTS then an Autokraft conversion is not a bad way to go. They are holding their value well and they tend to be well done. | My car was an Autokraft conversion, and they did a rubbish job converting it with very little strengthening, I think they did the earlier ones better but never got the rear of the car the correct shape. Andy If you want any advise, please get in touch. Which country are you in? Grant [ UK] PS, I would have bought a coupe, if i new then what i know now, I have spent way more than the purchase price I paid for my conversion, making it correct! |

It is really a personal choice. i have seen a couple of conversions and they were good ones. Over the last 5 or 6 years i have watched, they have pretty much tracked along price wise with the coupe. all things being equal, i don't think it's a risk financially. Really more of a preference. I was never enamored with the daytona , so i would say, what ever turns you on.
