not much to go on, and wondering why someone would go with RM rather than others like MS.

Could be that either the buyer or seller were connected previously with RM.

I believe the new owner is Chris Evans. TV and radio presenter, radio station owner, pub owner, golf enthusiast and much more.
Very well known in the UK by the general public. A true A lister.
Also very well known in the car world as a true petrolhead with a particular love for Ferrari. He previously had a large collection of Ferrari's, including the ex James Coburn california, some of which he recently sold. My guess he needed the garage space rather than the money.
He turned up with several cars at last years FOC national. With any luck we might see the GTO at this years event.

I believe that you are right. I found the thread in the Ferrari Discussion Forum after I posted this. Seems to be the same car.
