Default Drive 'em!!

Got this picture from Tom Yang's site and is worth a thousand words. On the way to Cavallino; the new Ferrari begin trailered from New Jersey, while the 47 year old Ferrari (330 America) is driven the entire way from New York!

Drive your Ferraris, people.

I got to see Tom off as he began his journey to Cavalino.
It was great watching he and his codriver load up the old 330 for the drive.
What a beautiful car!

Toting the car to the mechanic for engine/repairs doesn't count, you are forgiven

That is a great photo by the way. I can also say our very own FLer JazzyO, drove the hell out of his car in the Alps. Photos in most recent issue of FLQ: www.ferrarilife.com/flq (next issue coming soon by the way)

well if you would quit breaking it, you wouldn't need the flatbed!! you are in good hands w/ BC!

Yang actually had a caliper seizure as he was getting close to his sister's place in Savannah, GA. Just as he made it to the driveway, the boiling brake fluid ruptured the flex line, sprayed onto the red hot caliper .. . He drove up the driveway in flames! 36 hours later, he was on the lawn at Cavallino for jugding. With baling wire, some foil, tape and extra quarts of oil, you can usually get an old Ferrari where it needs to go.

hehe:

Duct tape goes a long way...having owned a Model T pickup I know of bailing wire too.

FLAMES: ya' that gives a heart a jiggle....which is why this car was being towed... Wife driving it home for close the store at 2am. Fellow, local Ferrarista noticed flames out the right rear [of course those CATs are the cheapies at $5,000 each...it the right side ones at $9,000 that can make anyone say ouch... bad ol' CA doesn't allow rebuilds like in your SMOGY area]

BC, is doing a great job -=== JUST how luck are we to have a slot with him? I'll not go to anyone else, unless he says so.

I give him tons of leeway and well worth the wait and honor: I truly have no issues in any fashion with him and he's my kind of person...someone to have on your team.

Couple of years ago went to Maranello for an F40 event. After it a bunch of us drove back to our various countries and convoyed up to the French border as a group. Great great run. What blew my mind was passing two of the participants trailering their F40s back to Amsterdam shortly after we headed out.

I was in Daytona for Bike Week about 12 years ago. My favorite T-shirt read "I rode my bike to Trailer Week, Daytona"

Great Andrew.
Thanks for the FL stickers (just need to add dotcom to the stickers)

You *may* want to outsource creation of the FL QUARTERY since it's been a while since it last published.

Or maybe just change the name?

Just kiddding, we still love you more than Rob Lay.

It looks cool but it's seriously punishing these old machines, particularly the clutch and transmission. I won't be doing that to mine myself, although I do get her sideways now and again it's only small controlled slides, nothing major. To get this kind of tyre smoke you need serious friction.

What a lovely color - the phone camera and lighting don't make it clear which color it is. Just guessing but perhaps Rosso Fiorano?
