Thanks Guys.

One of Mike's final jobs:-

He has now finished hand making for a perfect fit, the two lower front closing panels and he has left instructions with Rob of the paint finish to put on them.

The Photos shows the right hand panel being made and in situ with the header tank attached to it before it was removed to paint.

Rob has said the dash clock is back from being overhauled and the exhaust should be ready at the end of the week.

This is the last owner of my Daytona getting his comeuppance for not looking after it properly! It was close.

Well It's not finished yet.

As usual things have not gone to plan.

There is a cowl that fits between the steering column and the dash. When they went to fit it, it was found it was a rubbish fit. This was a few weeks ago. The first chance i had to go up was on Fri. and it was decided to make a new one. As we where going to do this, I made the decision to also make a new bolt-on bracket, which supports the steering column, in order to raise the steering wheel up. When i drove the car before this, the steering wheel was almost rubbing on my legs it was so low. It could have been modified for the small racing driver that owned the car for 20 years. It will be reversible as i will keep the old bracket and cowl, and as it only bolts on it should not be a problem. I have posted a photo showing the bracket with a arrow.

A few more items have been added. The air con pump being one of them. It was all fitted with the new belts from Ferrari UK and then it was found they would not tighten up as they where not as thick as the old belts so it had to be removed again [ 2 hour job] and the old belts fitted!

I had some new earth straps made as they where no longer available.

All the electric have been tested and found to be fine.

Sorry it's been a while but here's a few pic's from last weekend.
It has now gone to the paint shop to have a small blister that has appeared on the boot lid sorted out, [ It must have been a small piece of contamination under the paint, as the boot lid was a brand new Spyder one supplied by Ferrari UK],

then detailed, and after that, sent to the trimmers which is close by.
So its getting nearer

Grant- Those Borranis look so good on a Daytona Spider. Now you just need a local kid you can train to polish the spokes.
