Hey Jimmy,

I gather from fchat that your Daytona is for sale at Bill Noon? The website says they bought it from you, I didn't know it had gone.

1971 Used Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Coupe at Symbolic Motor Car Co Serving La Jolla, IID 8662903

Quite a reasonable price, it seems to me, with Daytona's selling for €350k in Europe.

All the best,

Onno

Hello Ono:

Yes, it is true. I sold my Daytona to the Symbolic.

Time for me to rethink my values or maybe I am still going thru my midlife crisis, or simply life crisis at continum ...

Or maybe you wanted that supercar drive in the GTO, Jimmy?

That D of yours looks great! How was driving the Daytona in Yokohama street like? I am about to test drive a RHD red Daytona at DKEng this weekend, weather permitting.

No problem Jimmy, I can understand that.

In the end this must be an enjoyable hobby, not a burden, so if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. Doesn't make the passion any less, just redirected.

@Gus: see you in a couple of hours! Thankfully we could find flights - driving just seemed like a bad idea this weekend. So no 458 for you to admire, unfortunately.

Onno

Let me know how you liked driving the Daytona at DK first and then I shall make my comment. It is great that they allow you to drive the cars first before buying. Not so here.

Would appreciate if you can let me know if DK still has the 288 for sale and the asking price ?
The reason I ask is because James quoted me initially a price different from what you told me couple weeks back ???

Enjoy the Daytona.

It is raining quite a bit here, so the car was not allowed out...I have to wait until weather improves after my trip to Asia.

With regard to the 288, he is asking for £575K...I asked him again today.

Too bad the weather was not in favor for the drive.

Thanx for asking again. Looks like the car has been around for a while now.

There is another 288 in the continent. Price not available yet. Shall think a bit.

Thanx again, Gus.

Jimmy,
What is the history of the daytona missing it's original motor?
Also, is the black stripe original?
Thanks,
Ed

I purchased that car from Jon Guikas of Marseilles, who acquired from the previous Swiss owner. At the time, I believe back in early 90's the original engine "froze" and was factory replaced with a brand new engine. When I bought it, the mileage was only around 8000km or so. I think I clocked no more than 15,000km or so since.

The black stripe is not riginial. It was the works of the previous owner, painted.
