Nou Rick, daar ben ik dan.

Om de een of andere reden is het Nederlandstalige gebeuren hier nooit van de grond gekomen. Ik denk omdat het forum zo klein is - als je het dan gaat opsplitsen is dat zo "kliekerig". Er zijn gewoon niet zoveel mensen die hier dagelijks of regelmatig posten.

Voor mijn Nederlandstalige Ferrariforumverslaving gebruik ik een ander forum, waar de Nederlanders+Belgen erg actief zijn en een leuke hechte groep hebben gevormd. Ze komen vaak bij elkaar voor een ritje en organiseren ook hele evenementen. Ik ga met ze naar Maranello in mei, bijvoorbeeld, en 19 april is er een grote bijeenkomst met meer dan 30 Ferraris (en ik ben daar ook bij). Om even aan te geven hoe actief men daar is: in de Nederlandstalige sectie daar staan 36 duizend posts (in 2 jaar tijd). Dat is 60% van ALLE posts hier op FL.

Maar begrijp me niet verkeerd: ik ben een fan van FerrariLife. Ik vind hun focus op "het goede leven" erg goed, en de Quarterlies en Buyers Guides zijn geweldig. FerrariLife gebruik ik om wat mensen te leren kennen van over de grens. Dit forum is erg vriendelijk en het lijkt me erg leuk om die trip te gaan doen volgend jaar met mensen uit heel Europa.

Maar ik zal zeker een bijdrage leveren aan de Nederlandstalige sectie van FerrariLife.

Het is wel jammer dat er wel redelijk veel Nederlanders op ferrari-life staan geregistreerd maar dat jij (en ik net begonnen) dagelijks reageren.
Moet je wel zeggen dat het me hier erg goed bevalt.

Ben wel beniemand naar dat "Nederlandse forum" .

Ik heb misschien nog wel en klein verzoekje als je het niet erg vind. Ik zou het, zoals je misschien al gezien heb, erg leuk vinden indien er een ferrari aanwezig kon zijn bij de mv agusta meeting. Jij hebt jammer genoeg al laten weten waarschijnlijk niet in het land. Zou er misschien op dat andere forum interesse voor zijn.

For those interested here, my 1983 308 GTBi QV was first purchased by Hans Hugenholtz on December 1, 1982 at Kroyman's.

I thought that might be interesting to the Nederland group here.

That's the guy who designed some great (former) race tracks, right? A.k.a. John Hugenholtz

He worked on Suzuka (Japan), Zolder (Belgium, where Gilles Villeneuve died), Zandvoort (NL, which he was Director of for decades), Jarama (Spain), parts of Hockenheimring (Germany), etc.

John "Hans" Hugenholtz, Jr. is the son of the man you mentioned. The son (who owned my car originally) raced LeMans, among other race courses, for many years. He is now engaged with partnership at Spyker cars, where he was interim CEO for awhile.

A Dutch friend (and Ferrari owner) was able to get plates made in Holland for my car (for show purposes).

I contacted John, showed him some pictures of the car as it looks now and below is a copy of the reply he sent to me.

I see, that does make much more sense, because although Senior only died in 1995, he would have been running on 70 by the time he would have purchased your 308. It can be done, but didn't seem likely. Thanks for clarifying. It doesn't alter the fact that your car's lineage is cool!

Neonzapper, can you please ask Andrew or another mod to remove picture with the original papers stating the home address of Mr. Hugenholtz? He might still live there you know? Even if he doesn't, I think it would be correct not to show it.

As a side interest, I enjoyed his comments on the Kroymans bankruptcy in the documentary on Dutch TV the other day. He was shown polishing his 250SWB prepared/rebuilt by Roelofs Engineering. I saw that car up close in Houten the other day - pretty special it is too, even considering that it is not as original as could be.

Thanks Jazzy O and Andrew. I should have thought of it originally, but not being familiar with Nederland addresses, I didn't realize how specific it really was.

I've Emailed back and forth with John a few times here and there. I know he has quite an extensive car collection, some original and some modified as he tells me he still loves to race.

Someday, I hope to take the time off from work so I can have a personal tour of the Spyker factory.

You should hurry if you want to see the Dutch version of that, they're moving production to England which undoubtedly will make the tour less interesting.
