Thank you guys so much for always being there for me, and now I know the whole scoop on the 355 Battery, and it's little pleasures!!!
I'm off to the Rally this AM, and detailed my baby to the Max last night.

Ladies, start your engines!! or I guess it's Lady. I'll give you the scoop later on.

You Guys are the best. Nicholas, thanks for the kudos, I have a plan for you. Will post later on today
Good to hear that you got it sorted. Suggest you leave it on a battery conditioner whenever it is going sit for more than a day ot two.

Default The 355 drive home

Hello Gents,

I have read this entire 8 page section only today and must thank monza for creating it. I would have liked to have read it before making my purchase of about a month ago however, I am satisfied with my purchase. In fact I was so xxxstatic I couldn't stop polishing it for days after getting it home. My daily driver is an old porsche which is a great reliable machine and I still really appreciate it. I had been scouting for the right car for a while and it finally came up. It is a black ext with black/tan interior 97 spider. Found it in San Diego California and drove it 3000 miles back to toronto canada. I have to say that I have silently dreamed of ferrari ownership since I was knee high on a grass hopper yet was not prepared for the experience. I hadn't even test drove this car or any others prior to this purchase. Just loved the 355 lines and knew I had to have one. In fact I didn't care if it blew up (i would fix it). I paid $55,000.00 with 38,000 k miles on the clock. Cosmetics are perfect in and out however the engine requires the 30k service. This car exceeded all my expectations of what a ferrari is. I have tons of info if you are interested and will post details/pics of her when I post again, including my high speed drifting incident (boxer would be proud). You guys seem awesome and look forward to the complete ferrari ownership experience.

Congrats,

That is the lowest priced 355 Spider I have ever heard of. I think those cars were trading over $200K when it was new. You should install Capristo 3 exhaust when you do the major service. Again, Congratulations.

Welcome to the site f-man! Congratulations on your purchase, a very good purchase indeed for the price. I paid close to 80K for mine about 2 years ago, but it is worth every dollar I paid for the fun I have had with it.

I did have some drifting incidents with the 355. I thought that it would be difficult given the great handling and stickyness of the tire, but it is possible at high speed and sharp corners

Do tell and post more stories.

Sliding or drifting is just a matter of speed and the corner......having personally drifted a 360 Challenge running on slicks a few times.....

I have been watching F355 prices on and off for the past several months and they seem to be increasing slightly.

I would agree. The serviced, low mile cars are trading quickly and for high prices between collectors. I know of a few folks who are looking for clean GTBs and GTSs, and will pay accordingly.

There's nothing like a good 355!

The F355 is ageing very well. Last of the "wedge" Ferraris and the end in many ways of a styling line that started with the 308. Not sure it will ever be a real collectors Ferrari given the numbers made, but it will very likely be regarded as a true classic in the next 10-20 years.

Default And now I'm where you were

So Monza,

I am now where you were, since then what has your 355 experience been like? Would you do it over? What should I watch for?
