Does this mean you're thinking of getting a 16M Mark?

Come on, none are moving at that price! Market is 250k and below period.

Doug got one of the last good one's. IMO, only one's left worth anything are:

White one on EBAY
Red one at Ferrari of SF, but not in favor of the dual stripes, would prefer Italian stripe.
Like the one at Bellevue Seattle, but no carbon side sills.

Like Boxer, but at a smaller level of course, I like having different cars, Scuderia Coupe and 16M to me would be too redundant.

Still bummed on this waiting game on a new 458. Guessing mine will be a 2013. Kind of BS that the dealer keeps 25k of my money for a year! Might just move my deposit to the 458 Scuderia, I am 3rd in line at RTGT. Pretty good considering the line is 50 people long at Lake Forest in Chicago.

If I don't hear from them by end of July / August, I am doing something else. I have a promise to get the red Performante by the end of June, but not sure.

Will have to see how the 670 treats me.

I just like watching the market for lots of different cars, follow the market for:
]
Scuderia, 16M, Gallardo SL and Performante, 458, 670 SV, and Aston Martin DBS Volante.

I think you will be disappointed by the big Aston.

Might be worth considering the McLaren 12C if you are looking for something different and British.

On the contrary, I think the fact that the 458 is more of a targa design combined with the fact that the Scud is now once more starting to be appreciated as the truly great driving machine it is has started to firm up 16M prices. Amazing driving response, stunning performance and looks and most of all as 'Top Gear' love to say the unmeasurable 'FIZZ' factor all combine to make prices of 16M's very strong. I'm not a believer in the price matrix you use anyway especially when it concerns limited run cars that appeal to 'true driving fans' - just maybe you will have to ditch your formula!
After all, you say yourself there are very few good ones left, we all know low supply and high demand drives prices only one way!

I did notice that Meridien dropped the price on the black 16M by another GBP 5k. Given that they normally price things at the very top end of the market and really don't negotiate, it was a bit of a surprise.

It's the colour! They traded the black 16M in against a Rosso Corsa 16M. I think it looks lovely in black but watching the market red cars just come to the market and sell instantly while some other colours seem to hang around.
Interesting side note, they also traded a MP4 12C in against a CS - now on their 3rd price drop for the MP4!

The Aston isn't for me, it's for my wife. If she wants a new car, and the choice is down between a Maserati Gran Turismo S Spyder and the DBS Volante, I will buy her the DBS all the way.

If McLaren makes a GT3 version, without the ugly Blue Whale smiling front bumper, then I might consider it.

I agree on the 458 Spyder design, that's why I ordered a coupe.

My pricing formula is simply based on transactions, and some of them, were last summer. Mid 250's fully loaded with carbon side sills and modular wheels. Doug got his 16M for less than this, the black one with full alcantara seats that was at Scottsdale sold below this, and moved to Autogallery, wholesale transaction. These cars have around the 5k mark for mileage. The Gorgeous white one on Ebay has moved down twice and still has not sold at the 255k mark. I already have an offer less than this from the seller.

The U.S. market is not the same as your market in England, you let me know how the market is over there, and I will keep you posted on how it is over here.

IMO with the huge fears in the economy right now, anything above 250k is most likely going to sit.

The SF car with the dual grey stripe got a new home this weekend

haha ... that's a great post!

Congratulations on the 16M

I was looking at two other 16M's before my Grigio Ferro popped up and that was one of them.

It's a top notch 16M - enjoy and feel free to post more pictures along with driving impressions.

Thanks Mark

I don't think the 16M is OMG drop dead gorgeous but I do think the bang for the buck beats anything close price wise. The only car I can toss near it's overall appeal is the Aperta and those are trading at 200k over list.

It's fast has the right fit of F1 technology and it's a limited spider that happens to be the fastest and last spider ever to be produced by Ferrari.

Keep in mind there are only a few hundred in the US.

... jus sayin

Well this is weird.

This Ferrari 16m Spider with 5k miles is priced at £159,995

2009 Ferrari F430 SPIDER 2DR F1 16M - CARBON CERAMIC BRAKES 4.3

But this 16m Spider from U.S with 5.5k miles is priced at £184,382

Cars for Sale: 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider in Plainview, NY 11803: Convertible Details - 307838417 - AutoTrader.com

That's weird for a 30k difference especially between a black and a white.

How does pricing work over in the States?

Future: - Nero Ferrari 458 Italia with yellow calipers ^^

I have driven the first one and it is a very nice 16M.

My guess is most the 16M buyers weren't and aren't concerned about selling.

It's the few that want the latest and greatest that are willing to lower the price to move it. In those cases the market sets the price and the car is sold.

What made your decision to get the coupe over a spider? these past couple of days would of been great for the 16m , even though rest of the year would be ideal for coupe.

champagne, I can see now that your saying it, some get the scud because its more of a collectors car, and others will just get it because of fashion accessory and move on to latest things... I think in 10-15 years time, 599 GTO and Scud will be every good classic cars, if i had either of the two cars i would keep em around a little while.

Aside from them being for sale in different countries the White US 16M has carbon side blades and a white rev counter, that alone accounts for almost £10k...

Also the Black UK 16M has been for sale for an age & the Dealer has recently reduced it from £165k, if I recall correctly it started off circa £175k or thereabouts, last year, it's now great value and the cheapest 16M for sale in the UK...but it is also the most common colour for a RHD 16M next to Rosso Corsa. 12 v's 17 of the 55 RHD built.
