Got the car home from an 11 hour drive from Chicago yesterday! That was a great way to break her in. But after washing it and checking everything, it seems she's a little low on oil. Ive looked around and can't find anybody local that stocks Shell Helix oil. What can I top it off with that won't hurt it and will mix ok?

you can mix oil mineral and synthetic and it won't matter in today's ratings as long as you keep the same designated weight.

Quaker State Q is the Shell Ultra Helix rebadged for the US. Shell owns QS and Pennzoil.

The Q doesn't say it's synthetic on the bottle. They have Q durability, q horsepower, defy, enhanced durability, advanced durability. Which one is it? The only one that says synthetic is the horsepower 5w20

Make absolutely certain it really is low on oil. Very common mistake to over fill and that will be a bad day. Follow the instructions in the owners manual to the letter. Between low and full is fine. There is no need for it to be all the way to full. By federal law all motor vehicle motor oil must be compatible. |

It barely shows any oil on the tip of the stick.

are you sure you are testing the dipstick correctly after a full warm up and run . common mistake on a dry sump is testing the dipstick when you haven't had the temperatures of the full temps, which will result in a very low reading which you maybe seeing. that is internet speak. but basically is what the manual says .

That's exactly what I was doing. I didn't realize you had to have it running and warm to check the level. With a cold motor, it was barely registering on the dipstick.
