I have an '03 360 spider. For the last 2 days I have not been able to start the car. The remote fails to de-activate the alarm system to allow me to start the engine. I've tried both of my remotes and also changed the battery in the remote, but no luck. |

Did you look in the manual for instructions? The F430 had something to do with activation codes. 2003 360 Spider Manual (US): http://www.ferraridatabase.com/The_D...02003%20US.pdf |

If you have your PIN number, you can go through the no-remote starting procedure. Do you have your PIN number? - Jeff

Arash- Here is a document showing how to start the car with the Alarm PIN and key alone. On the remotes, you may need to squeeze the contacts together, and I hold the contacts on the battery with one hand and spin the battery with the other to ensure good contact. I also apply a drop of battery terminal treatment to the contacts with a toothpick to prevent corrosion. Will the remotes lock and unlock the doors? Guys, thanks for your quick and helpful replies. FYI -- It was actually nothing short of an embarrassing (make that stupid) mistake. I was charging the battery at the time using my trickle charger. I quickly realized that was the problem -- that is the alarm does not allow you to start the engine when the hood is open. Unfortunately, I don't have the PIN number since I'm not the original owner. Anyone know if you can get the PIN thru Ferrari? |

Arash- Affirmative. Last time I heard, they were charging about $500 for your original PIN.
