I wanted to change my standard wheels for a set of 20" for a while now. After lots of research and thinking I decided to go with a set of 20 inch corr, F1 encor wheels in piano black. Once the wheels arrived, I was faced with 2 problems. 1. I wasn't told that I would need special wheel bolts for these wheels, as the standard bolts were way too long and the wheels were still lose after the bolts were tight, and also the 21mm ferrari bolts are too thick to fit in the new wheels. This is where Hill Engineering came to the rescue and they are manufacturing a set of new wheel bolts to my specification as we speak. 2. as you can see the 235/30/20 pirelli nero at front and 305/25/20 at rear, their side wall is far too low so I don't think there will be much protection from bumps in the road. I have now ordered a set of 245/30 20 for the front and 305/30/20 for the rear and that should hopefully give me a bit more cushion and at the same time not to rub inside the wheel arch. |

I am a big fan of aftermarket wheels but I am still trying to get accustomed to the blacked-out wheel fad. Black and red do look good together. I'd love to see better pics when you get it all mounted and cleaned. Reggie 2007 Glacier Frost GS350 2006 Obsidian GS300 |

In the pictures you see above, the wheels are mounted on the car using VW bolts, just to see how the sit, but hopefully once the new bolts and tyres arrive, i will be able to take some proper pictures. Then the geometry and ride hight will also need to be altered to rebalance the car.

Hi Harry, That's a very nice project! I agree with you, together with Capristo, Hill Engineering are both companies I do like very much. They make great parts based on true engineering without compromising the quality. Our cars deserve only such parts ![]() I hope you'll get your new bolts very soon. Did you find the centre caps which will fit on the new wheels? I don't know the exact weight of the stock rims but as I wrote me, those wheels weight only 10kg each. That's very light ![]() Well done Harry Can't wait to see your pictures with the new wheels and geometric alignment.

Couldn't agree with you more, regarding your comment on respectable companies! Some of us learn from bad experiences! ![]() The wheel bolts, should be here by Tuesday as Paul at Hill engineering promised, then the new tyres should also be here by wednesday, so hopefully they will all be up before Christmas. The wheels are at my friends garage and I will take a scale with me to weight both old and new so we can compare. I am really desperate because I have been waiting for these wheels for almost 3 months and we always seem to come up with small problems. But we have to get everything wright, we don't want mistakes. We took one of the centre cups of the new wheels to Ferrari and they will see if they can match any standard items to it, otherwise we will have to do some modifications....

I had the the CS alloys switched to scud grey, on a nero D 430. Adds a bit of drama to the car. You might want to enquire if you can get some CCB to fill up the dead space |

Thanks guys! The pictures of the car with the new wheels are only temporary and the wheels are mounted using Volkswagen bolts as I am waiting for new bolts and for a set of new tyres with a bit higher wall to protect the wheels from road holes. Should all be done this week and of course I will take more pictures! That should be my Chrstmas present. :-) |

Finally my Michelin tyres arrived. I got rid of the Pirellis and replaced them with PS2. Unfortunately Michelin don't do yet my size in PSS, but PS2 is definitely the next best thing! I took this picture this afternoon but the sun was low so it is not too clear. I will take some fresh pictures on a sunny day and post them. I like the way it makes the car look meaner. ![]() I will need to readjust the geometry too sometime this week. |

I like the black on red, but I'm a bit biased because that's what I have! I have 325 in the rear though.

245/30 20 front and 325/25 20 rear. The amazing thing is that despite the bigger tyres the new wheel tyre set up is around 4kg lighter per wheel than standard! The way the car responds to these light wheels is incredible!

I also love after market wheels and I want those wheels but can't get on board with black. Nor can i get on both board with matte paints . They remind me of a primer car ie half finished
