I have recently purchased a 2000 F1 360 Modena. I have already had problems with the heat exchanger and a transmission relay. The car makes quite a bit of gear whine in 3rd gear and the used car dealer's mechanic says that this is normal. I would like to confirm whether other owners also have this noise or if it is something that I should get them to check. Thanks for any input.

w hy would you get them to check it if they say it is normal? I would go somewhere else. I don't have a 360 but i can't imagine excessive trans noise in a single gear is normal. Shortly a 360 owner will respond i'm sure. Welcome to f-life and how about a pic of your car?

I'm no F-wrench, but my 360 does NOT make noise like that. Curiously, how would a used-car dealer know what is normal in a 360? If you didn't have a PPI done before purchase, I strongly suggest one now (i.e. ASAP). |

I did have the PPI done and none of the issues that I have experienced since were noted. I had the car in to the shop to replace the relay for the F1 transmission when I mentioned to them about the gear whine. I have already posted some pix but here is one again.

What I thought was gear whine turned out to be a problem with the ground on the new stereo system.
