Looks fantastic Iain. I imagine you probably enjoyed the labour of love! Are you planning to leave it without a front number plate? I'm sure it looks better that way.

Until Ferrari come up with a suitable bracket for a front plate Barry I fear mine may keep "falling off" Last edited by iainuk; 08-28-2010 at 12:59 PM. |

| Quite a common problem. Front one "fell off" the F50 today and the one on the F40 is looking like it might go at any minute.

British roads must be littered with Ferrari front number plates!

I'm not sure if it's the picture or not but are your front lights fogged (tinted/blackened) at all? Just curious because other pictures I have seen seem to have clearer looking lights. Either way the car looks great and enjoy!

Absolutely fantastic design. I can't see a Spider version looking as good as the Italia, but I know it's coming. A fellow FL (Bst1) has a threaded pipe screwed into the front tow hook cavity. On the other end of the pipe (sticking out just past the front bumper) is a flat plate welded onto the end of the pipe. On the plate a front license plate is screwed in place. It doesn't mess up the car, and works for travel to and fro. _________________________ 1983 Euro 308 GTBi QV red/black s/n 44151 |

| Road & Track, October 2010, page 44: "While the official word from Ferrari North America is that the only new car for 2011 will be the 458 Italia, a bit of detective work has shed light on the company's future plans. A recent Ferrari business analysis presentation revealed that a 612 Scaglietti replacement will come in the first half of 2011, followed by a Spider (convertible) version of the 458 Italia in the second half; both will most likely arrive stateside as 2012 models. A new Enzo supercar and a reworked 599 GTB are also due in 2012, with a 458 Scuderia for 2013. Going forward, Ferrari plans to introduce a new or revised model every year, with the mid-cycle refreshes designated with an "M" for modification."

I can only find that it is still listed as a £30 fine and non endorseable. As long as the ANPR cameras can read it I think you are going to be OK. Legal font spaced slightly incorrectly will still be read so they shouldnt have an issue. I have seen a few plates attached to 458's and they either look awful (stuck flat onto the top of the front end). or very insecure (stuck to the 3/4 inch vertical portion of the front - which also covers the Ferrari badge in the process). I would do exactly the same thing and leave it without. | |
